Federal and Colorado Employment Law Update
November 13, 2024 | 9:00-10:00am
Presenter: Tina Harkness, Esq., SPHR, General Counsel, Employers Council
Please join us November 13 for an Employment Law Update covering the latest federal and CO developments. We will discuss the two-stage increase to the federal minimum salary required for employees to be exempt from overtime along with updated guidance on workplace harassment and new regulations on accommodating pregnancy workers. We will also discuss U.S. Supreme Court decisions setting the standard of harm in workplace discrimination claims over job transfers and striking down deference to federal agency interpretations of the laws they enforce. And we will discuss laws that passed in 2024 CO legislative session that are currently in effect on topics such as tax credits for apprenticeship programs, protections for living organ donors, limitations on recovery of education and training expenses and upcoming laws that will increase penalties for child labor violations, restrict collection of biometric data, and protect consumers against AI bias.
