A work order for my flooring replacement was opened right before the pandemic hit in 2020. I was called and informed that my assessment would have to wait until further notice. In 2021 someone came and assessed the damage. I was told at that point that it was a manufacturing defect and that because of supply chain issues I would have to wait until after that was resolved. And then I never heard from anyone again. The work order was closed and that was it. I contacted home warranty and tried for mediation and they declined. I contacted their customer service department, was told to send an email with the issue and the emails which I have also attached here and I have not heard from them. That email was sent on May 8th 2023. All I am asking is for my home warranty to be honoured and my flooring to be replaced. I have completed, signed documents from all the other issues that were noted in my one year inspection, but not this one. Further proving that it was not completed.Initial Complaint

I am a homeowner at ******* ** *******, Edmonton. I purchased a new home from Rohit, with a walkout basement backing to the pond, and I paid a premium for this view. After I moved in May 2022, I contacted Rohit' very regularly about rough grading timeline to plan for landscaping. Rohit also holds my landscaping deposit. I was repeatedly told it would be done by summer 2022, so I contacted contractors and negotiated prices based on the timeline give. However the timeline kept getting pushed back from summer 2022, fall 2022, and before snowfall 2022, and finally 2023. I had to build a temporary sidewalk costed over $1,000 for materials in order to access the backyard in winter. I had to postpone the sidewalk and landscaping schedules multiple times due to the delay. I paid deposit to secure the spot. Starting early 2023, I tried to contact multiple Rohit departments to escalate this situation and was promised multiple times by different Rohit staff that I will get rough grading approval by June 2023. I rescheduled sidewalk and landscaping to start on July 24 based on this. I was recently told on June 28 by Rohit site superintendent that rough grading is completed, waiting for City approval. This review process takes 2-3 weeks, thus July 24 should work. Then I called him again yesterday, and was told that he had no idea about the current status, and asked me to call 311. Another staff from Rohit grading told me in a separate email that he was not aware that my rough grading was done. I called 311 and was told no request has been submitted so far, making July 24 impossible to start. Due to this delay, my contractor increased the pricing by $2,000. Rohit needs to show respect and integrity, and should be responsible for 1. loss of a useable backyard for 2 years 2. economic loss I suffered due to the delay. 3. apologize for the misleading and misinformation. The City also requires rough grade must be approved within 18m after building permit is issued.
