My name is *****************************. I was a college student with First College in ******* ** from February to May 21st 2023 when I had an accident and broke my neck and back. The program would not allow me to continue with labs & practicum due to lifting and moving restrictions during my recovery. They told me to return at the same point during their next cohort. Which was then canceled. Now they are saying I cannot return until the next cohort starts in January 2024, at which point I would return around May 2024 to complete the last 3 modules I had left. But they are now saying I will have to pay $2,700 even though the course was paid in full (sponsored) the first time. ** ***** ** ******** *** ** ***************************************************************************** ****** *****. Please help. What can we do? We cannot afford to return to finish, and should not have to pay when the program was paid in full the first time. ($8,000). Thank you for your time.Business response

First College values any feedback from students, staff and the the general public. We continue to strive for excellence in our educational services and programs and continually support our students' success. We regret that our former student, ******************** was unable to complete the *** program due to an unfortunate and devastating accident. We offered ******************** the opportunity to make up any missed courses, lab and practicums once medical clearance is established and once a new *** program is underway at First College.
Unfortunately, we were unable to run the *** program September 2023 due to a lack of student enrollment at that time. The temporary government ***** for the *** program is no longer available, therefore, students now pay for tuition independently.
We recognize that ******************** has experienced tremendous health challenges and stress due to her accident and we would like to offer her the opportunity to make up the missed courses of the *** program at First College as soon as the program becomes available again. We expect to proceed with the *** program January **** if we have the minimum required student enrollment. ******************** will receive complimentary enrollment in the ***007, ***008, and ***009 courses as soon as they are available.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide complimentary course enrollment to her daughter, ************, who was also a former student. We recognize that ************ experienced tremendous stress due to her mother's health crisis and we offered ************ additional support during the difficult time of her mother's recovery i.e make up exams, private instructor lab time. **************** attendance records clearly reveal that her absenteeism and lateness were consistent throughout the program, even prior to her mother's tragic accident.
First College continues to strive for high standards in the Educational Institution industry and in addressing concerns or questions from our valued students.
