We hired this contractor as we had heard good things about him. Unfortunately we had nothing but the opposite for our experience. He overcharged us from his quoted amount for the job, and then when we agreed to and made final payment, he told the sub trades that still had work to be completed at the home, that they were to cease all contact with us and not complete the work that was already paid for. Very disappointing behaviour and extremely unethical. I would highly suggest not using this company for any of your builds.

We are saddened that misunderstandings surrounding this project caused distress all around.However, we would like to clarify a few things.The original quote for the addition and renovation to the older home was given when the plans were not 100% complete, engineering was not finalized and without a building permit. The quote was for budget purposes.From the very beginning, it has always been a cost, plus management fee project. A fixed price quote would have been much higher.When the original quote came in too high for your budget we revised it, knowing the unfortunate circumstances with your situation, and significantly lowered our management fee to help make this work With renovations and additions, there are inherent unknown factors which can cause budgets to fluctuate. In this case, the city we were dealing with identified significant remediation to the old house to rectify unpermitted additions. The 3 engineers that were provided, required extra work, much greater than what is typical.Another factor was owner approved upgrades, over and above what was originally quoted. All costs were transparent, with monthly copies of all trade/supplier invoices provided, with our calculated management fee added. In addition, regular detailed budget updates were provided. We are uncertain with your final figures as they do not reflect ours.As the final invoice provided was rejected, several attempts to meet in person to resolve matters were denied. Eventually we again significantly reduced our fee to close this project and move on.After the City passed all final inspections, with no outstanding issues, the reduced final payment was made.Under no circumstances did we instruct or restrict any trades from returning to do any additional work after the fact. If they did not want to re-enter an uncomfortable atmosphere, that was entirely their choice.Furthermore, a deficiency list was not provided to us other than through an online review, but when attempts to remediate occurred, entry was refused. We always strive to repair any deficiencies in a timely manner and are still willing to do so.We stand by our product and have been building award winning homes since **** and are well regarded by fellow builders, building inspectors and engineers across the lower mainland.We have a long track record of very satisfied clients and have multiple repeat customers. New projects are consistently made by referrals.Truly we wish this project could have finished differently, we strive to maintain our clients vision and satisfaction from start to finish but somehow were unable to achieve this with you.
