I bought a 2024 Honda Civic new in March 2024, when I tried to cancel the tire warranty of 595 plus gst, I was informed that the fee was a property fee and not refundable even as the car was in an accident on July 18th and was determined to be a total write off. I have since learned that it is sometimes quite difficult to get a refund with warranty companies, but it is something that is available and since there is no need to have the warranty going forward as the 24 Honda is a total write off. I am looking for a pro rata refund of 77% of 595 plus gst plus89.25 total 684 x 77% = $526.00 settlement.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:
Please be advised that Portland Street Honda said it sent a cheque to settle but the cheque has not arrived yet and I don't want to advise settlement until the cheque arrives and clears the bank.Business response

Good morning. As I explained to Mr ****** on the morning of Monday, August 12, we wrote his cheque on Wednesday, August 7th. At the latest it went in the mail on August 8th, Thursday. Not sure why it is taking this long to arrive, but it is in the hands of ****** Post, per his request. I presume he will see it today. Copy of cheque in full amount of refund is attached with date printed.
