Central Credit Control has access to all credit reporting agencies as stated on their website and reports to all credit bureaus. As is standard practice in the field of collections. Once an account is closed they report this to each credit bureau. Recently, I obtained, spoke to, and asked for a paper copy of my up to date credit report from both *********** and *******.
My account was closed and paid in full in 2016. As this collections agency has full reporting capabilities, they have the ability to update all credit reporting agency's account standing.
My reports prior to this noted the account was closed. Conveniently, they reported to both ********** and ******* the account is reopened as of April 2022. When I called and enquired as to why this was being reported as a reopened account, the representative via the telephone violently expressed she has "NO IDEA WHY IT IS SHOWING AS OPEN WE CLOSED THIS ACCOUNT ITS PAID IN FULL" ...If the account is paid in full and closed, and they have the ability to update both ********** and ******* as mentioned via their website, Why are they updating a closed account as "reopened"? Further why do they have representatives that do not know why it is showing as such? I was under the impression they would hire people who would atleast look into this error, look further into the matter or even offer some information other than that they do not know. If they do not know what information they are reporting to the credit bureaus, how can they be trusted to provide accurate information? How can they be reopening closed accounts and reporting this to credit bureaus? How are they hiring people who do not know what is being reported? Further, when you tell them you have spoken to ********** and ******* and both agencies told you to contact the collections agency, Why do they not know what information they are providing if it isn't accurate. This company maintains they have zero responsibility for reporting capabilities.
