*** * **** ******* ** *** ** **** Paid off a loan and also pay day loan for my Daughter and they gave me a simple small receipt with no name or even an account number on it. The lady told me that that is all they can provide me. Called the head office and they were supose to email over some type of proof of payment and they never did. We called 4 times and each time they said it was showing 0.00 balance and they would email my daughter the proof as the receipt I was given shows very little on it, like a grocery receipt. I paid close to $5500 back to them as the interest I was told can go up to 46%!! They could not even give me a proper receipt.Review from Tina t

I was eligible for a re loan for the line of credit, I still have the paper written by the first person that I saw. She offered 18 months for 234.86 paying back a total of 4227.48 on a 4000 loan. And 36 months at 208.56 for a total 6844.08. In the evening when I brought all the paper work back, the branch manager not only arbitrarily changed the account where the funds came out of, but she said the only way she would process the loan is if I opted for the 36 months otherwise they would not give me the loan. Shame on them for forcing me to take the 36 months and not honoring the 18 months to pay off they offered earlier that day. ****** ***** **** * ** **** *** ************ ***** **** *********Review from ashley b

i got an instalment loan with money mart. paid it off, and got a new 1. at the midway point of the term, i lost my job, and moved cities in july 2023. i contacted money mart, they stopped my PAD payments, and i applied for insurance. i was approved for insurance. the ;ast payment for insurance was Jan 22 2024. and i called today to restart my payments, at which time, i was informed that my account was sent to collections on Feb 2 2024, (only 10 days after my last payment) through insurance. id like to know how this can happen?? my insurance kept me from going unpaid, or delinquent, so how is a 10 day period an allowable time to decide that im now delinquent and in need of collections?? furthermore, the last i spoke to money mart, they said once im working again, call in and restart my payments. which is what i tried to do today. and was told ive been in collections this whole time, without even knowing. THIS CAN NOT POSSIBLY BE AN ALLOWABLE WAT TO CONDUCT BUSINESS!!Review from Tonya R

I have had a personal loan with National Money Mart for 4 years. I have paid it off with no problems and had borrowed one again. This time my bank and I have been trying for over a month to pay off the loan and nothing is happening. My bank mailed a draft to the address on the payout letter from Money Mart. MoneyMart said they have not received anything. Since then I have made 3 more payments and I am not getting a response. Neither is my bank. They want to charge the high interest rates and not let you pay off your loan. I am very disappointed in this company now.Review from Dan S

Now I have a loan at 46.7 % interest and somehow they are still changing more interest on top of the 46.7 %. I have been constantly call to money mart, for someone to look into my account. Everytime I call the representative would tell me that someone would and never did up to this day. Money mart has been charging me for past due payments I don't have, they have been taking from my payments to cover these past due bill I never make. I make payments on time, also a day before my actual due date. I have reached out in email recently and no one since to be taking my issue seriously.Review from Jeremy B

These guys are not here to help Canadians. They want to ruin your credit. I had a delinquent account for a $300 loan. Which I was paying down. Then forgot to make a payment. They offered me to pay $260 to close the account. which I did then the person that contacted me by phone started saying I owe $963... in interest. Even though the email in writing said "final payment to close account" there was no other fee's on this email. then on the phone they tried suckering me out of like $1000. They said they would send out a email informing about this payment and how to pay. I have yet to receive a email. ******* **** **** ***** *** the $260 was the final payment. They consistently were unable to find supporting documents provided with my loan application on a number of occasions. Because their app and website don’t show you as having provided the documents, the loan process sits idle. Their online e-signing doesn’t work, so the application says the loan agreement is signed, but then later says it has not been signed. Their customer service text message system with “live agents” use identical, boilerplate responses (same typos and all). If their answer doesn’t solve the problem, no help is offered. Overall, their online system is flawed *** ************* ******* given that personal supporting documents seemingly go missing. I question whether their customer service isn’t just an AI.
