Please share and help spread the word. Anyone looking for any kind of vehicle service or repair DO NOT take your vehicle to *** ******** Chrysler!!! We recently purchased a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe from ******* ******** and when buying added over 100,000km of bumper to bumper warranty. We were experiencing a loud noise in the rear end of the car. (Lateral Link was broke) so we contacted our sales rep and asked where we should take the vehicle for repair and to use warranty. We were advised *** ******** Chrysler was the place to go. After checking our vehicle out they concluded that because the vehicle was in an accident (surface scratches. Not even a dent) the warranty would not cover repairs. My wife was contacted and told the repairs would cost over 1000$ out of pocket. Devastated she called me to tell me the bad news. I then contacted the dealer to find out what needed to be fixed. After being informed it was the lateral link it seemed very expensive. I reached out to several dealerships to ask what replacing that part pays for the job. It was between .5-.9 of an hour. *** ******** told me due to the severity of the damage they added extra time for difficulties removing bent bolts! (Quoted at 2.5 hrs) annoyed and feeling ripped off I expressed that I thought this was unfair. I was told they would take the vehicle off the lift and we could pick it up (of course this is after the vehicle was deemed unsafe for the road). Knowing a tow would add an additional cost I chose to have it repaired but requested ALL broken parts including the link and any damaged bolts be saved for my own inspection. Of course BENT BOLTS was the reason they tripled the time of repair.… long story short I picked the vehicle up received over a 1200$ bill for 1 rear lateral link and an alignment. The broken link was left in the vehicle but NO bent bolts or any evidence as to why this repair was more difficult then usual. NEVER WOULD I RECOMMEND GOING HERE!!Customer response

Update. I received a full refund considering the dealership took it upon themselves to figure the warranty wouldn’t cover the work and never actually submitted any kind of documentation

On Dec 21/21 I was given a quote to repair my jeep . It was for 10.9 hours labour at a rate of $129/hr . The job only took them 8 hrs to complete but they still charged me for 10.9 hours saying they charge a flat rate now . I have no problem paying for how long the job takes but don’t feel I should be charged for hours not used . **** *** ******** ****** . This provides an environment where they habitually quote higher than necessary to over charge . I accepted the quote as it seemed fair for needed the jeep for two days as they told me . They should not be allowed to take money for hours they never performed workBusiness response

I am responding to ******* ********* complaint (********). Our Service Department at Thompson Chrysler has always been a flat rate shop. We use industry standard from ******** or *** **** to let us know how long each jobs would take. For *******’s case, ******** shows us that it was 1 hour for diagnostic, 8.5 hours to remove and replace heater core and 1.4 hours to recharge the air conditioning system, a total of 10.9 hours. Our technician would get paid 10.9 hours to do the job and that is what we would charge *******. If our technician completes the job sooner than 10.9 hours because of his efficiency and skill level, he would still be paid 10.9 hours. But if it took him longer than 10.9 hours, he would not be paid more time. I would say all dealership uses the same format.
We would like you to know, ******* has called to book an appointment since his complaint to have other service work done on his vehicle.
We hope to have this resolved.

I am rejecting this response because: They only had the car for a total of 8.5 hours. They told me only one tech worked on the car so it’s impossible to have done 10.9 hours of work when I dropped the car at 8am and had it back in my driveway by 4:30 pm. I also have not booked more work, I had to book an appointment to bring it back as it was still leaking coolant after the repair . It is something they have already charged me to fix. It did not repair
