Date of transaction: Monday, June 20, 2022 Time: 4:00-6:00 p.m. Amount paid to business: $131.00, with $38.42 refunded after initial confrontation. Business committed to provide: "mani/pedi shellac" service to my 13-year old daughter. Nature of dispute: I made an appointment online for my 13-year old daughter online for the "mani/pedi shellac" service, then confirmed the service upon check-in on their **** for check-in, the charge for which was $48.00. I was told to return in 1.5 hours as there was not ample room for me to stay. When I returned, they had up-sold my daughter an additional service costing $68.00, nail extensions of some kind without my permission requested, nor received. My daughter asked if the extensions were included in the price for the shellac and was told yes. The place was very full, my daughter had a friend in the place, and I paid the full amount out of shock and not wanting to embarrass my daughter by making a scene. I drove home completely unsettled, then drove all the way back to confront the business regarding upselling of a minor. The business' resolution: the manager offered to have me go home to cut my daughter's nails off and send him a picture, at which point he would return the money. When we said no to that ridiculous resolution, he offered a small credit or a refund of half the $68. We would not take the credit as we will not be going there again. He then tried to only agree to give me half the refund if I signed something that said I would not take this further. I denied signing such a thing. After much rude treatment, he returned $38.42 (half of the $68 upsell + tax). The company refuses to pay back the rest of the up-sell amount. They have said that if I bring back my 13-year old daughter so they can cut off the extensions they up-sold her on (while I was not present), they would pay back the rest of that fee. However, they are not considering that we paid for the original mani/pedi shellac, which they would then have to spend time repairing (at an additional cost! which we will not pay). *** ******* ** ** ********** ******** ******. * ** *** ********* **** ********** * ******* *** *** ********* ******* ** *** ******** *********
