      We boarded our Dog here for a weekend as we went away. We dropped him off on a Friday afternoon around 4pm. No one contacted us after we dropped him off so we assumed everything was going well. We left for North early Saturday morning and was at the lake by 10AM. We spent the day at the lake and left our phones in the cottage well enjoying the water. Around dinner time I checked my phone to see if there were any calls or messages and received a very unacceptable message from the kennel. They informed me that our dog was uncontrollable, aggressive and that we had to pick him up as the closed at 4 and if we couldn't that the Sunday we would need to as his behaviour wasn't acceptable. They called at 12:15pm and we were 4 hours away and got the message around 5pm. I called a friend and arranged for him to pick the dog up Sunday morning. Between my wife and I we called 20+ times Sunday morning and my friend rang the door bell and knocked on the doors to have no one help but yet there were two vehicles in there parking lot. We showed up first thing Monday morning leaving our holiday earlier then planned. We were given a dog covered in urine and poop. A brand new harness destroyed and all chewed up, none of his treats or chews given to him, and barely was fed. We've reached out to the business but nothing was ever done. We also took our dog to the vet on the Monday he was picked up for a check up and our vet was very upset considering our dog has no aggression and is a very well behaved dog. It cost us a lot more then we planned and made our first holiday in 5 years a terrible experience. ** **** *********** ******* **** ****** **** *** ******** ****** *** **** *** **** **** ***** *** *****

      First, we are very sorry this situation resulted in ruining your vacation. I am sure your dog is a great pet at home and is not aggressive with you in his own home. Unfortunately, for some pets being in a cage/run in a strange environment with unfamiliar people is too much for them to handle and they respond by becoming uncharacteristically aggressive. This is what we experienced with your dog. Despite several attempts by different staff members, we could not safely get him out to walk him or move him to a clean run. We contacted you to see if other arrangements could be made that were less stressful for him and safer for us. This is only done as a last resort- we are not in the habit of sending pets home early from our boarding facility. The clinic is closed after 4pm on Saturday and on Sunday. The only staff on site are instructed not to answer the door outside of hospital hours. I will speak to staff to improve communications to owners about pet pick up times. I can assure you your dog was fed, but he was too stressed to eat very much while here. When he wouldn't eat his food/treats, we offered him our dry and canned food. Again another reason we felt different arrangements were warranted. I apologized that he was sent home dirty. It is not our standard of care but we cannot bathe an aggressive dog. I am sure no one would want to see a staff member become injured from a dog bite. Again, I apologized that you had such a poor experience with us. .
