In the fall of 2019, Triton Plumbing and Service was hired to install a *************************** Tankless Water Heater.We had issues with the unit and contacted Triton to come troubleshoot. They were unable to come up with a solution and after we complained about having sporadic hot water, they cut contact with us.With Covid taking place, it was difficult to have the unit serviced in 2020 and 2021. Triton is also only one of three authorized *************************** dealers in the area and the only one within 50km of my home.We have since had the unit inspected by *************************, another authorized company, and it was discovered that Triton installed the unit improperly. The gas line is 1/4 inch too small, so the unit doesn't receive enough gas pressure to operate. I have paid $600 to troubleshoot this machine and did forward the findings to Triton with no response. When the unit was installed, my basement was unfinished to allow for all plumbing, gas and electical projects to be done. My basement renovation was finished shortly after Triton completed their work. I now have to have a proper sized gas line installed and drywalled ceilings need to be ripped out to do it.The estimate I was given to run a new gas line was $1800 and does not include the removal and replacement of my ceilings. This doesn't seem like an expense that I should have to cover.At this time, we can't run the bathtub without having tank errors and this leads to not having hot water. After speaking with ***************************, who spoke to *************************, we will continue to live without reliable hot water until the gas line is repaired.The issue is definitely improper installation of the unit by Triton Plumbing.
