      Hello ****,

We are aware of the double billing. You were one of many people who were double billed.

As we are the new owners of Skymark, what unfortunately happened was that the old owners also ran the billing cycle, so you are one of many people who were double billed.
There are two options on how to proceed. Would you like us to reimburse you via e transfer within 5-7 business days to this email address? Or would you like us to hold the payment and then you do not have to make the December payment? You may contact us at *******************.ca

Please let me know as soon as possible

July 28 2014 I purchased from a door to door salesman an ***** ***** ********* ****** as the salesman showed me evidence that the ****** water was not good due to too many minerals in the water. It was very hard. The purchase price was 8,357.42 including tax. Terms were 0 down, 0 interest for 6 months, interest at 13.95%. Financing was assigned to Skymark Finance. I paid Skymark through direct debit to my bank starting Feb 15, 2015 at 97.16 per month for 6 months. Then the Skymark debit increased to 138.94 every month starting Aug 15 2015 through to July 15 2023 which I assumed was payment on principal. For total payments of 14,018.36. During this period I never received one statement. After the July 15, 2023 debit I contacted Skymark for a statement of my account and they pointed out I had been making interest only payments and still owed the original balance of 8,357.42. And they would be willing to settle on 75% of that. I have correspondence and a statement of account from Skymark and the original purchase agreement. In July 2014 Canadian interest rates were approximately 3.00% and hovered between 2.85% and 3.95% through June 2022. Only rising above that starting in July 2022. At no time were they above the current rate of 7.20%. I placed a stop payment on the Skymark debit after the July 2023 payment until this is resolved. I am lodging this claim against Skymark (and ***** ***** ********* *******) for interest gouging and a possible ****. As I have paid approximately 4,000 in 'interest' payments over and above the originally quoted rate of 13.95% which was excessive to start I feel I don't owe Skymark any further money. I did offer to them that they could come and get the equipment but as I am no longer residing in ****** they need to make an appointment with me for equipment removal.

      Hello Sir,

Thank you for reaching out to Skymark via the BBB website. The laws governing interest rates in consumer financing have been followed in the contracts. Secondly, the the contract clearly outlines all the terms and conditions. It specifically states on the front page (that you have even provided) that your minimum INTEREST payment was $97.16 AND that the interest rate jumps to 19.95% after the first 12 months. There is also a box RIGHT NEXT to your minimum payment that says REQUESTED PAP AMOUNT, which means that you can choose an amount above the minimum payment in order to pay down the principal total amount financed. Furthermore, this was fully explained to you the day you had the equipment installed via a confirmation call where you confirmed you understood these terms. Our management offered 25% as a gesture of goodwill, and with a request, we're certain that we could assist with a further reduction in price (in the range of 40-50% off). That being said, there has been no wrongdoing here, the terms and conditions have been clearly laid out within the agreement and as a matter of fact, Skymark is entitled if so inclined, to charge the full balance owing under the agreement.

      Regards

Reporting ***** *** door-to-door soliciting of a senior living alone. October 2021 - 2 men came to Lise's door to tell her about a government program for seniors in connection with ******** to upgrade their furnace at no cost (Blain C. - ###-###-####). No paperwork/contract provided at this time November 2021 - 4 men came to Lise's house in the late evening while she was alone and stayed until 1am to install a new furnace and remove the old one (George, last name/phone number unknown). No paperwork/contract provided at this time despite Lise insisting on a warranty - Lise called Blain a few days later to request again a copy of the contract/warranty and ask for someone to show her how to use. He came to her house (late Nov/early Dec) with a barely legible contract (********) and instructed her sternly to be sure to make payments of $90/mo directly to ******** for the lease of the new furnace, and that a receipt would be provided so she could submit with her taxes for the government rebate - No charges appeared on Lise's ******** bills for the lease of the new furnace, however, she continued adding $90 payments monthly to her account, as she was instructed by Skymark. Feb/March 2022 - Lise was receiving numerous calls from an unknown number, she finally picked up and a man named Jonathan (he refused to provide last name, contact ####-###-####) was aggressive in telling her that she was not making her monthly payments and he was asking for a PAD to start a new agreement with direct withdrawal from her bank account. He asked her to send a void cheque to their Village Centre Place address, and she complied because she was worried she had misunderstood (Lise has some memory and communication challenges) April 2022 - Lise's son was made aware of the contract and looked into Skymark, finding numerous articles indicating ***** *** liens placed on consumer's houses. Lise stopped the cheque and closed her bank account so Skymark wouldnt be able to take funds

      Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for reaching out to Skymark Finance Corporation via the BBB website.

The vendor company named ******* *********** ** ******* is the company that signed Lise up on the lease agreement for a brand new ******* Furnace at the monthly rate of $89.99. There was a verification process ensuring the client's understanding prior to Skymark purchasing the agreement from the vendor and begin billing.

Initially this file was to be billed through the ******** platform beginning in November 2021. However, there seemed to be some issues loading the file to the platform, possibly because it may actually be a ***** *** file, which could not be loaded to ********.

In April of 2022 was when Skymark was made aware that this file had not been billed due to the errors. At which point our office left a voicemail on Lise's answering machine kindly asking her to confirm her ******** account number in order to begin the billing as agreed upon. I can assure you that no one at our office would have been aggressive in any way shape or form when dealing with the client.

Lise contacted our office back and agreed to send the void cheque instead, so that there would be no further issues with the ******** platform. Moreover, Skymark agreed to credit all the payments that were not taken since the commencement date of the agreement, and agreed to start fresh after April 20, 2022.

Finally, with regards to your last statement mentioning "fraud" and "liens". Unfortunately, as a billing company with many thousands of clients, there will be a select few who may not be happy with the representations of the vendor company, and as a responsible company, we do our absolute best to rectify any and all issues that persist. With that being said, as contracts are signed and begin billing, Skymark registers a Notice of Security Interest on title to securitize the equipment that has been financed/leased. This is NOT a lien and does not have the same properties as a lien. It simply shows that there is an agreement in place for equipment that has not been fully paid for.

All in all, at this point in time, there is an agreement in place for a brand new furnace that has been installed in the subject property and must be taken care of and paid for, either by monthly payments or being bought out in full. If the account has gone delinquent, then our collections team will begin the necessary steps to collect.

That all being said, we invite you to contact our office at 1.866.380.9979 to discuss options moving forward.

We look forward to hearing from you, explaining further if necessary, and coming to a resolution in this matter.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not wish to continue dealing with SkyMark as I as had never heard of am them. I am requesting that the equipment (aka furnace and Humidifier 600) be removed from my house as soon as possible.
I am 70 yrs old & live alone and I did not get any costs in advance nor did I get anything from the taxes money. I paid the 6 months $90 . I am requesting to void the warranty. I am not able to manage the needs of the maintenance. Please, I did ask what the costs were and I did not get a response. so now I am not able to afford this program. That is to no why I closed my bank acct. I am asking to void the warranty.
It was suppose to provide benefits at taxe time.
"I was told I would get all your money back." I just want to void the warranty.
I also spoke to the police and they are suppose to provide their report back to me regarding this complaint.

      Good morning,

Again, thank you for reaching out to Skymark Finance Corp via the BBB website. We are unable to grant your request of voiding the contract.

There are steps in place to ensure the customer understands the agreement (with regards to the payment and term) at the time of signing, which were all completed.

There is a brand new furnace in your home that was installed in good faith and with the contract in mind. Under the contract you are entitled to servicing and maintenance at any time as that is included in your monthly payments.

What we can offer you is some discussions towards a resolution, but the equipment will not be removed and doing so will be a breach under the agreement. So with that being said, we invite you to contact our office to discuss further 1.866.380.9979.

      Best regards,

      Skymark Finance Corp.

I am trying to CONVINCE the Business that I want to buyout the furnace. I just need to get the full costs including the taxes, fees (if any) and I will get a lawyer to cancel the liens. I want this because I am not well and I want to live without stress and there is an option provided in the Business's CONTRACT. They must adhered to my request, and I will go to my Bank and I will provide the funds

to the last cent. I will need a bit of time for me to get the Bank & Lawyer to help to review the above conditions prior to closing ,so that both parties are fully satisfied. I am not closing the 2 parties are in agreement.

      Good afternoon,

Are you currently in contact with the vendor company at this time?

As we are the billing company, you may feel free to contact us to discuss a resolution amount.

We would be glad to assist to the best of our ability. Alternatively, if you require assistance with getting a hold of the vendor company, we can also help with that.
