Before my lawyer retired, he suggested that David would be a suitable replacement. I contacted his office, delivered the files from my lawyer to David for storage in his basement (for future use if needed), paid a retainer of $250 and arranged for a meet and greet with him on Zoom. The call was quick and terrible reception. We briefly went over my divorce and custody arrangment. Near the end of the conversation, David said that he was going to return the retianer fee as I would only need him once a year to calculate child support amounts and he would hold my files from Mark's office in his basement for free. Immediately after the Christmas holidays, I had an issue with my ex wife and spoke to David on the phone. It was a short call and he gave great legal advice. In the spring, my fiancee decided to redo her will and I suggested she go to David. I thought that since she was going there last week, I should probably call his office to see what happened to the retainer fee. To my surprise, his office sent me an invoice for file reviews and meets that I did not ask him to do. I contacted the office to have this corrected. David called me the next day and we agreed on the phone that there were only going to be three things on the invoice, as he called this a "misunderstanding." So the zoom call, to which I told him I still didn't agree with, one file review and the phone call in January. The next day I still get an incorrect invoice. I contact the office again. They return my call the next day stating that this is the final invoice. I was very upset, crying, stating that he twice now went back on his promises, lied, was unprofessional and they said that I could not get my files back (originally from my previous lawyer) until I payed the bill. I asked them to speak to David again to see if he will change the bill as promised. All I want is my files back and only to be charged for the phone call. If not, at least just the 3 items agreed upon. This is deceptive of him.

I think this is going no where. He will argue otherwise. I realise that he will do so to protect his interests.****************************************************************
