On January 28, 2022 one of the meter lugs at *** ********* Avenue, a two family, two meter dwelling, became disconnected. It was cold, Toronto Hydro came and shut off the power. They decided to divide the remaining power between the two units to keep the furnace on and left. I applied for a Temporary Service Disconnect $680.00. February 2nd signed back a formal response to the quote on February 5 and a date for the disconnect/reconnect which would allow the electrician to replace the double meter base was booked: February 16, 2022. The power was disconnected, my electrician replaced the meter base and Hydro reconnected the power and re-installed the two meters. Unfortunately the guys from Hydro switched the meters, a mistake that was not noticed immediately for a number of reasons. My meter is ********. My bill says ********. The end result of this mistake is that I am being billed for Hydro that is being consumed by the other account holder. My meter number remains the same on the bill, but the consumption for the meter on my bill is the consumption of the other occupants in the building. They use a lot more hydro than we do. I called Toronto Hydro to try to explain the situation. After many calls we were asked to do a meter test to prove that we were right; turning off the power to one of the units for just over an hour. Then calling Hydro back to report the time that this was done. This was August 29, 2022 from 10:29 to 11:45. Call to Hydro was 11:52 and again two days later. That was that. Someone called me from Hydro, voicemail no last name, John, ** ******. I have called several times since. One person put in a request to change the meter numbers on the bills to fix it. I stopped paying my bill to get their attention, I am not using the Hydro I am being billed for. Now they have issued a Notice to Disconnect Oct 10/22-Nov 9/22. This would, of course, disconnect the other occupants' Hydro, who remain unaware of the situation. My account number : **********
