I have a complaint about the billing for a service I received recently from Roto Rooter - I was billed twice for the same job at the same location. Roto Rooter has completed jobs for our properties in the past. I called for service to unblock the basement drain at **** ******** ** ****** ** Saskatoon. The technician came around 5pm on September 16 to clear the drain. The kitchen/shower weren't used till the morning of September 17. It was still blocked and I sent an email to Roto Rooter with photos of the blockage. Another technician was sent on September 18. I received an invoice ******* on Mon, Sep 18 at 4:26 PM for $190.92 which I paid. On Sat, Sep 23 at 4:17 PM, I received another invoice ******* for the sum of $448.44. I have e-transferred the sum of $257.52 being the difference between $448.44 and $190.92. I sent an email stating that I had already paid for the job done. Their response is below. "Good morning, ***** The payment that you are referring to for your rental property is for and has been applied to ******* done on September 16th 2023 just as it says on your e-transfer payment. The new invoice was completed on September 18th 2023. Invoice #******* and if you review them, they are not for the same work although probably related in some way. Since receiving this email, I made some changes to the invoice ******* for your rental property located at **** ********** ****** *****. I reduced your service call amount to $48.00 and applied a discount. The new amount owing for ******* is $364.30 and I will re e-mail both invoices to you shortly". I have called their office asking for a review of my complaint and sent an email requesting for a review but I haven’t heard back from them. There is a 90-day guarantee on their jobs but this was less than 24 hours! I believe I shouldn’t be made to pay for a job that was not properly done. Since I have not heard back from them, I would appreciate it if you can wade into the matter. I don't want to pay more.
