BBB El Paso Torch & Spark Awards 2025

The Torch Awards for Ethics will recognize business and nonprofit leaders in our community that exemplify the highest standards of Character, Culture, Customer Service, and Community Commitment.

The Spark Awards will recognize new businesses and younger leaders of the flourishing vibrant start-up and entrepreneur ecosystem.

Better Business Bureau® is a community-based resource, a trusted advisor, and a partner in business. The BBB Torch Awards for Ethics embodies BBB’s mission of advancing business trust and honors organizations whose leaders focus on the four C’s: the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics measures the Character of the organization’s leadership; if and how an authentic Culture is being fostered; the company’s transparent relationship with its Customers; and the impact the organization is making in the local Community. 

The deadline to apply is Sunday, February 2, 2025. 

The winners will be announced during the ''Champions of Trust'' Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Why participate in the Torch & Spark Awards program? 

Award winners will be celebrated at the Awards Ceremony celebration and widely in a number of media outlets. In addition, they will be able to display the recognition on their own social media and printed materials.

Eligibility & criteria Torch Award for Ethics

The BBB Torch Awards for Ethics is open to for-profit, 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) non-profit organizations of all sizes. For-profit and non-profit organizations will be judged in their own respective category. 

• BBB Accreditation is not required.

• Applicants must have a minimum “B” rating with BBB.

• Organizations must have been in business for at least three years. If your organization is a newer buisness started after August 1, 2021.

• Applicants are not eligible if they have received a BBB Torch Awards for Ethics in the past three years; however, previous finalists may apply. 

• Government agencies are not eligible to submit an application.

Eligibility & criteria Spark Awards

 The BBB Spark Award is open to:

• Business owners 35 years old and under, or business owners of any age that have started a business within the last three years or after August 1, 2021.  

• BBB Accreditation is not required.

• Applicants must have a minimum "B" rating with the BBB. 

• Applicants are not eligible if they have received a BBB Spark Award in the past three years, but previous finalists are eligible to re-apply. 

Nominations

Anyone may nominate an organization for a Torch or Spark Award. The organization will be notified and asked to complete an application.

The judging process

Entries are evaluated by an independent, voluntary panel of judges comprised of business and community leaders.

Submissions, including examples, stories and documents, should provide a robust and accurate depiction of an organization’s focus on character, culture, and community. Supporting documents and attachments can range from handbooks, internal documentation, photos from events, or video.
