When were negotiating buying a ***** CRV 2008 from this business, the Manager said that he can have the car problems looked at and have the Windshield replaced. The brother of the business Auto Owner, Hazaa told us to use this mechanic brother that owns a car auto shop. The car auto shop turned out to be rude, unfriendly people that sided with Hazza that owns Alaska Professional auto. The auto car shop, Al didn't want to look at the car problem and said there was nothing wrong with the car. We have not gotten to the bottom of the car problem yet and the mechanics can't seem to find the car problems. This dealer also said that they would replace the windshield and they have Not kept that promise either. We are seeking to have the windshield replaced. Plus this used Auto Dealer charged way over blue book price for the car.Business response

My ****** 4Runner stalled and would not start at times. I had my mechanic looked at it and said it may possibly be a fuel pump defect. Unfortunately, he was leaving and fly that night and be gone for a week. Late afternoon before closing on 28 Jan, 2022, my son took my ****** 4Runner to Alaska Professional Auto to have it fixed. He was told they'll take a look at it first. My son had bought a used fuel pump and I brought it over to the auto shop. We were told by the owner/mechanic ********************* that he will not fix the vehicle with the used auto part. We said okay and have him get the part. No word from the auto shop until Monday, 31 Jan, 2022. When my son went to check out the vehicle, he was told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. He was told that they did a diagnostic test and was charging him $120.00. "Everything looks fine." It is totally fine for us to pay but my son asked for a receipt with a diagnostic code reading. ************** cannot provide one and after being pressed for a receipt, he told my son to take the vehicle keys and take it. "I don't want to deal with that headache!" is what he added. My son never paid for it. A reputable auto repair shop would always provide a receipt with their services and be polite when dealing with customers, as we have. We obliged with the owner/mechanic's insistence that he will not repair it with used parts. We will pay the diagnostic service provided he showed us proof of receipt. My son and I have lost precious time and money dealing with this establishment on the belief that my vehicle will be repaired or at least diagnosed properly. My son and I never thought that a business like Alaska Professional Auto can choose and select discriminately who they will work for without any reason. In the end, we lose as customers and nothing was done at all. I hope this incident will never happen to anyone again and the BBB look into this serious matter. An apology may be nice to get but not expected. Thank you.Business response

As stated by customer the vehicle was towed to my shop, the customer told me the vehicle wouldnt start and they suspected the fuel pump was bad. Later on they dropped of a used fuel pump. I told them I dont install used electrical parts such as fuel pumps because there is no way of knowing whether the part is good because its been previously used. I was told to check out the vehicle and put in a new fuel pump if needed. We work on first come first serve basis and we are closed on Sunday, so on Monday we got a chance to check out this vehicle. We spent time checking it out, we started the vehicle several times and it started without any issues. I dont think vehicle had a issue with the fuel pump therefore I didnt want to replace it and cause customer unnecessary expenses. When customer came to pick up his vehicle i informed him that the vehicle started just fine and if he wanted me to replace the fuel pump ill do it but in my opinion vehicle didnt need a new fuel pump. Customer told me since the vehicle starts with out problem than h*** take my word for it and pick it up. I told him we charge $120 to diagnose the problem but I wasnt going to charge him. I gave him his keys and he left. As for the time wasted that customer claims we as a business wasted time and money because regardless whether I charge the customer i still have to pay my technician that checked out this vehicle. I was trying to make sure my customer leaves my shop satisfied that is why I didnt charge him. My intention was to save him money, I didnt want to install unnecessary parts. As for a receipt I cant give a receipt if there is no charge for the work done.
