      Business response

      03/29/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/18) */ Mr Satcher purchased a truck with a 30 day 1000 mile warranty which covered water pump, fuel pump, engine and transmission. I replaced battery and radio within that time and did not charge him anything even though the items were not covered. He then said vehicle would not crank in September and demanded I fix it. I did, even though it was out of warranty and again did not charge him anything. I also told Mr. Satcher that I would give him his money back for the truck if he was not happy. He declined my offer. A month or so later he called and said truck was cutting off on him. I told him that I do not do work for public because I am not set up to do so but recommended he take it to Cobb Automotive. He did and they fixed it. He called back and thanked me for recommending them. In December he called and said he took truck to Cooper Chevrolet because it was making a noise and they told him "the motor is shot". I called Cooper to find out what that meant and they said it jumped time and they would not fix the timing but would put a motor in it. They said it was because the truck had over 200,000 miles. I called Mr Satcher and told him what Cooper said and recommended he take it back to Cobb and get another opinion. He did and told me Cobb said "engine is shot." I called Cobb asked them what they found and they said timing. I then called Mr Satcher and told him what I found out from Cobb. I told him that they said it needed the timing done. I was about to tell him I would honor the warranty that had long expired but he interrupted me before I could tell him and accused me of knowing that the truck "had a bad motor" when I sold it to him. I then told him there was nothing I could do to help him. I have attached the "thank you" card he brought me. I have also attached the voicemails he left my salesman where he said "there is something wrong with that boy and he has an attitude problem." I also attached the thank you card that says "Mr. Clay, just a few words to say Thank you for the work you have done for me on my truck I bought from your company several months ago and most of all for the good attitude you have shown through this whole ordeal." He also accused us of being racist in his voicemail. He sent you copies of his paperwork showing the warranty he had with truck. I hate that Mr Satcher has had problems with his truck but I feel I did all I could to help him and even offered to buy it back for exactly what he paid for it. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Mr Clay did not purchase a battery for me I purchased it from Walmart and the reason why Clay replaced the radio was because of the fuses were blowing. Yes, Clay did offer to give me my money back but he did not tell me that the engine was blown or I would have taken the money back. He actually stated that he would give me my money back and sell it for a higher price since book value was $11,995. Mr Clay never told me that the truck had a problem with the engine from the start. I did say that Mr Clay had an attitude because he does. Also, I never called him or anyone at his company a "racist" and I'm not sure why he is saying such a thing. The first time I took the truck to Cobb automotive I was told it was the sensor and they cleaned the sensors and three days later it started to give me problems, it was cutting off on me and making a rattling noise. This was all while it was still under warranty. I had to have it towed a couple of times. I took it back to Cobb Automotive for a smoke test and I was told that nothing was wrong, even though the truck would not start. I then took to Cooper Chevrolet and was told that the engine was shot and then Clay asked me to get a second opinion so I took it back to Cobb Automotive and then they also agreed with Cooper Chevrolet that engine was blown and it had jumped time. I asked for my money back once I found out the engine was bad and he refused. I ask anyone who is reading this to be careful when doing business with this company. I will not be doing business with them again!
