Purchased a 2023 Tiffin Cahaba Class B Motorhome 7/30/22 , price of $186,769.95 I am claiming that this model is a dangerous design, with multiple flaws, limiting availability for use. Many of our issues have later been recalls later. 1. Inverter had to be reset under vehicle every time system turned on. 2. Unattached, hanging wires under chassis we were initially told was normal (later determined need to repair) 3. Bump stops put in backwards & wrong size 4.Shocks & springs recalled-inadequate for weight of vehicle 5.Another return for repair for lights shorting out (repair person found multiple shorts that needed repair, bare wires crossing metal. 6.Inverter needed repair 7.Failure of CO2 alarm 8.Refrigerator found to be wired backwards 9.Screen system determined by dealer to be unworkable (leaks) 10.Lights shorted beginning of another trip (old fuse replaced w higher amp fuse to allow trip to continue 11.Vehicle returned to dealer after trip and kept 2 months to attempt to find all shorts and issues. 12.Another trip attempted w multiple electrical failures and tripping of circuits. 13.During that trip, also battery alarmed and failed because of ************** each step, we were told issue was resolved. We have spent an addition approx $20,000 in improvements with sound insulation, chip protection, trailer brake, camera rearview mirror, new speakers.A friend also has a Tiffin Cahaba with completely failed battery system, making it unusable. She was told her fault & $10,000 to replace Tiffin sent tech to WA for review of **************** system. Their only offer is to place (untested) frame around battery to attempt to protect against overheating (battery under chassis next to road surface)Tiffin has ceased to manufacture the Cahaba, has developed completely revamped Class B (GH1). It is our opinion, this is recognition that Cahaba is a flawed & dangerous motorhome.

In review of the history of this motorhome, it was purchased on July 30, 2022, and the limited warranty expired on July 30, 2023. The last recorded warranty repair was in January 2023 which was one year and eight months ago. There were two more recent repairs, but they were for recalls, not warranty. Our limited warranty did not fail its essential purpose, and Tiffin has honored its obligation under the terms of the limited warranty. Thank you for the opportunity to respond.

      Complaint: 22385140

I am rejecting this response because:

      1. The repairs that Tiffin claims were done as recalls were NOT recalls at the time that the repairs were made. These were repairs done after we experienced significant and potentially dangerous issues, ie, bump stocks being installed incorrectly and springs inadequate for weight of vehicle, causing damage to the vehicle carriage.

      2. The most recent issue with the lithium battery pack overheating and Tiffin's suggestion/plan to place an insulating shield between it and the road, has all the earmarks of an upcoming recall. The failure of the battery pack also resulted in failure of the refrigerator, even once the battery function resumed, from the "shock" of the system failure.

This is a poorly designed motorhome. Many of the systems have failed and later been items of recall. We are concerned that it is an unsafe vehicle/motorhome and we will not find all the problems until there is a catastrophic failure.  We reiterate that this is not a complaint of failure to service the vehicle under warranty; this is a complaint about a substandard and dangerous design. The most recent concerning, and so far unaddressed, example being that the is battery is exposed to the environment, and thus, susceptible to heat, cold, and salt water. This vehicle was marketed as an off-road camper; it should have been anticipated that those conditions will occur.

Again, it should be noted that Tiffin has ceased to manufacture the Cahaba. Their new class B motorhome has a completely redesigned battery system, in addition to modifications of all the other recalls.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *********

We purchased a new 2023 Allegro Bus in May of last year, and since then, it's spent 10 out of the 12 months we've owned it in the shop. The primary issue has been with the electrical system, compounded by various other problems. From day one, the check engine light has been on, and it's currently on again with a red "stop engine now" warning. Despite multiple trips to the repair shop, the problem persists, and we've hardly had the chance to enjoy our RV before encountering another setback. We've diligently contacted Tiffin each time, but their solution has been to send it back to the shop for repairs. Unfortunately, these attempts have been ineffective, as the issues resurface shortly after we retrieve the *** As responsible consumers, we're hesitant to pass this problem onto someone else by selling the *** so we're left dealing with a significant financial loss due to constant repairs and depreciation. This experience is particularly frustrating as we've owned other Class A motorhomes without encountering such persistent issues. We feel let down by Tiffin's lack of accountability for the time, money, and inconvenience we've endured. We're hopeful that reaching out to the Better Business Bureau will help us find a resolution to this ongoing problem and prevent others from facing similar challenges with Tiffin products.

Damage and repairs to the unit due to Hurricane *** and transport was not disclosed until after sending a $65,000 non/refundable deposit. My wife and I ordered a new 2024 Tiffin Wayfarer in late September of 2023, from the factory, and accepted delivery in mid December of 2023. The Wayfarer was advertised on Tiffin's website, in their brochures and in videos made by Tiffin's President, as having top rails. In fact, the President of Tiffin and his wife, in a promotional video still available on Tiffin's website and on ******** specifically pointed out that the new 2024 Tiffin's top rails were a great new addition to the Wayfarer for 2024. We had our Wayfarer built to order by Tiffin, based on the option sheet provided by Tiffin, with very specific options chosen. Nowhere on the options sheet was it shown that the top rails were optional. We fully expected the 2024 Wayfarer we bought would have the top rails, a very distinctive and desirable feature on the unit. I contacted Tiffin when I discovered the top rails were not installed, and received several responses. One was that the rails were installed on some 2024 units but not others. Another response was the rails were an option (clearly this was false). Another response was the rails were no longer being installed because production decided not to install anymore. My request was for the rails, which were clearly advertised, promoted and are still being shown on Tiffins website, to be installed on my 2024 Wayfarer. So far, Tiffin has been unresponsive to my request, and now, my complaint. I believe Tiffin has practiced deceptive trade policies and false advertising, clearly shown by their advertising and promoting the rails as a feature on the 2024. I am only asking Tiffin to own up to their corporate ethical responsiblities, and install the missing top rails. I've purchased 3 new Tiffin RV's in the past 9 years and up to now, believed in Tiffin and what they stood for. I cannot fathom why I am getting the runaround from Tiffin on this issue now... You only have to go to Tiffins website to see what they advertised concerning the rails.

The 2024 Midas went through some changes after the release of the 2024 model year.  A decision was made to discontinue building the Midas with the rails as they provided no functional benefits.  The rails were never meant to be used for carrying or mounting purposes; they were purely for aesthetics.  Our 2024 Midas brochure does not contain any mention of the rails.  In addition, our brochure states that in pertinent part: "Initial MY2024 Model Change Plans. Subject to Change in Full Production".  Our limited warranty also states in pertinent part: "Tiffin Motorhomes reserves the right to make parts and design changes from time to time without notice to anyone. Tiffin Motorhomes reserves the right to make changes in the design or materials of its product without incurring any obligation to incorporate such changes in any products previously manufactured."  We apologize for any inconvenience; however, we will not be able to accommodate the request to install "top rails".  Thank you for the opportunity to respond. Complaint: 21403011

I am rejecting this response because:

I don't have a 2024 Midas!  I have a 2024 Wayfarer 25 RW, as clearly indicated in my complaint.  Tiffins website CLEARLY and prominently shows the rails on 2024 Wayfarer like mine, website also has a video of my EXACT model, including EXACT color, etc..., prominently showing the top rails.  Tiffins President and wife made a video with my EXACT model showing top rails, and were very ecstatic in video over addition of top rails for 2024.

I can't fathom why I've received so much misinformation, tap dancing and outright obstruction over my simple request to have the advertised top rails for my unit, installed as Tiffin clearly marketed and continues to market on their website, company videos and brochures.  That top rails DOES have a distinctive purpose for aesthetics, just like their Phaeton top railing does on that unit...and they are still installing those top rails, usefulness aside, on their Phaeton units!  Why is the Wayfarer different?

This in NOT the Tiffin company we have bought 3 new half million dollar RVS from over past 9 years.

I am appalled at their multiple, varying replies to my request/complaint, appalled that they couldn't even get correct type of unit to reply about and appalled at the obvious, in my opinion, outright obstruction and BS they continue to reply with.

Buyer beware...in my opinion this "new" Tiffin org, based on my "top rail" experience , appears to be poorly led, shifty and bears little resemblance to the old *** Tiffin led organization.

I continue to expect Tiffin to honor their marketing, advertising and morale/ethical responsibilities concerning this matter!

      Complaint: 21403011

I am rejecting this response because:

Your official website and brochures and videos STILL advertise the roof rails on the Wayfarer, just as they did when I ordered and received my unit.  My exact unit is still prominently advertised on Tiffin website WITH the top rails.  Tiffin's Prresident made a video, with his wife, touting the top rails and that video is still being used in Tiffin advertising.  In my opinion, these facts indicate false and misleading advertising.  The numerous and shifting explanations I have received from Tiffin concerning why the top rails are no longer on Wayfarers indicates, to me, very poor ******** practice and ethics (I have all the emails with various explanations, all different...).  I am extremely disappointed in Tiffin's response to my complaint, have lodged a complaint with FTC and will do my best to inform, as opportunity presents itself, fellow potential buyers of Tiffin products as to my belief the company has taken a LARGE step backward from the old *** Tiffin run ******** ethics.  Whether this degradation in Tiffin's ******** model is due to the new Tiffin President's ******** ethics, or influence from their new master, **************** or both, is now a moot point for me.  I have bought 3 new Tiffins in last 9 years, I will NOT be buying another Tiffin product in future (can you say "Newmar"?).  MY view, BUYER BEWARE when it comes to the "new" Tiffin Motorhomes leadership and products...

I also have a complaint with ******** Motor homes and the vehicle they sold me.What put me over the edge was when after doing the repair warranty work in August I was called on the phone to collect an amount they said was due them without any invoice and never being notified in that length of time.I have sent the letter to them and the response was that our policy is that it was outside of warranty. The policy was more important than the quality of their product, understanding of what was going to be covered and what wasn't, and the extenuating circumstances on both sides. The letter will explain everything. I am very unhappy with the way they do business and the product I was sold - not quality at all.

I purchased a Tiffin Phaeton 44oh new in 2017, There was a problem with the a few celling lights. When I called I was told that that they had a bad batch of lights that were installed. I told them that I was capable of replacing the lights if they would send me all new ones. Their response was they could only send out as many as were defective, but they would warranty the celling lights for the lifetime that I owned the coach. They had honored that until now. I have a dozen lights the either don't work or are like strobe lights. Now Tiffin says they want $12 per light and that's not what Tiffin originally said they would do

In 2017-2018 timeframe, we received a bad "batch" of lights from our supplier.  Our normal limited warranty is for one year, or ****** miles whichever comes first.  At that time, we removed all lights from this bad batch from our facility, and the supplier provided us with new lights.  Any shipments of new lights were warranted for one year from receipt by the dealer or customer.   In the normal course of the lifespan of lights and bulbs, they go out and need to be replaced as normal maintenance.  We did not provide a lifetime warranty on these lights.  We have shipped on three separate occasions lights to this customer, two were sent no charge, but the third he paid for. The last order was shipped to the customer 3 years ago.  We confirm that the lights we have received since 2018 are not defective and believe that further replacement of lights is a maintenance issue and will not be covered by Tiffin.

We purchased our Tiffin manufactured fifth wheel with cash/no financing, brand new. We have had issues with it from day one and had it serviced by Lazydays (LD) under warranty where we purchased it from. This is the second time LD has had to inspect it as they could not find the issue the first time, and have had it since December 2022 now/round 2, as they are waiting on the last of parts from Tiffin after approval for payment on parts and labor. To this date, LD is waiting for some parts from Tiffin to complete the labor without updates on their efforts and same with our efforts with Tiffin. LD found the origin of the issues: Tiffin installed the exterior electrical cable cubby of the camper upside down which allowed water to leak into our camper each time it rained and water damage started showing in most of the kitchen along with leaking from the sunlight in the bathroom that was never sealed properly which damaged the ceiling, cabinets and pass-through storage below with electric issues and mold spots among many other issues which is when we first dropped it off to LD in 2021 under warranty, not even two months after we purchased it and received it from them brand new June 2021. Aside from the fact that we are still waiting for them to provide LD with parts to fix the damage, we will never be able to trust our camper nor any of their other products again after their manufacturer errors and all the hassle we have had with them, and we dont feel comfortable selling this mess to anyone else! We have been bounced back and forth from department to department with no response to latest voicemails and emails to Tiffins **************** line when weve been clear that all we want now is a full refund. Weve spoken to the **************** (CS) Supervisor and spoken to/emailed a CS rep who is not responding to emails and calls. Good morning.

The Fifth Wheel also has a 3-year ****************** Warranty. The one (1) year limited warranty expired on April 30, 2022 and the 3-year ****************** Warranty will expire on April 30, 2024.

Most, if not all, repairs to date do not rise to the level of non-conformity nor would they be considered defects that substantially impairs the use, value, or safety of the product. Please note, the Limited Warranty does not cover components of the ** where the manufacturer carries its own warranties. The warranty excludes incidental and consequential damages. The Limited Warranty is also a contract of repair, not a promise of quality or service expectation. As you may know, *********** controls jurisdiction over the Limited Warranty.

Unit was purchased August 2022. The unit has been waiting on repairs or in repairs for over half this time. I've had very limited use of the unit due to waiting on parts and service. The chassis manufacturer (Frieghtliner) blames the builder for some issues and the builder (Tiffin Motorhomes) blames the chassis manufacturer. I've since just paid the bill to get things going but I'm out money for what should be a warranty item. Now my factory warranty is expired and the unit is still sitting in repair. I'm getting stonewalled by Tiffin.

      Complaint: 20586268

I am rejecting this response because:

For over one year we have had limited use of the product. The unit has been either waiting on service or in Service and I can provide extensive emails and proof of this fact. We pay over 2k per month for something that isn't fully functional or utterly unavailable to us. We just paid 5k for new tags. It's not acceptable. As this message is written the unit is STILL in service. The unit is STILL waiting on parts. I STILL don't have it in my possession. We cannot use it. I'm not sure how many different ways I can state that simple fact. It's absolutely absurd to spend this amount of money every month and not be able to use the product. Again, we don't want money. We don't want free stuff. We simply want the unit brought up to spec and be able to use it. I contacted La Mesa RV today and the customer service rep said that they are completely full and cannot accommodate our unit anytime soon. The 3rd party vendor they are using that still has the unit cannot complete all the repairs as they are a body shop and not a full-service RV place. The things wrong with the unit have been wrong since the day it was purchased and delivered and well documented.  The slide and front cap problems with the unit could potentially be a big deal structurally but nobody knows because nobody is able to dig into the problem for over 12 months. We are no crazy Karens demanding this and that. We just want to be able to use our RV and have our warranty extended to cover the time we haven't been able to use it. It's really not too much to ask to be able to buy something and then be able to use that something.

      Sincerely,
