We are a company attending a trade show in Boston that we invested approximately $10,000 in (with the corner booth space, hotels, and travel) and had contracted with Airways Freight to ship all of our booth set up for the trade show (it contained a 10x10 lighted backdrop, a high top table, carpet, a pop-up sign, and some AV equipment). Our company arranged with Airways Freight to have the shipment that contained our booth set-up shipped to the trade show in time so that it could be set up prior to the trade show. Airways Freight guided us through the process of when it should be shipped to make our deadline. Per an email on 1/13 from Airways Freight it was "Pick up- 1/20, 9am-3pm to deliver ON 1/25 direct to the show". The freight was picked up on 1/13. On 1/24 I heard from Airways ****** ****** "Just wanted to let you know your shipment will be arriving in Boston tomorrow at 10am. We will recover it and then deliver it directly to the convention center. We are looking at delivery in the afternoon." On 1/25 I received another email "Just wanted to keep you informed that your shipment is still delayed. It will not deliver into Boston, MA until tomorrow. From the ********** website move in is still going on tomorrow 8am-6pm with the show opening up on Thursday. Once the shipment gets into Boston, MA on 1/26, we will get it delivered straight to the show. " The day before the promised delivery I received an email from ****** that said "Unfortunately ,I don't have the best news. Just finally got an update from our Boston agent. They are on the final trailer and do not believe the freight in on that truck". I then spoke with ****** and her supervisor **** that explained they did not know where our shipment was. Our company now was left with a completely empty 10x10 booth and had to scramble to fill the booth as to avoid fines from the convention (and look halfway professional). I received assurances Airways would compensate us for those unexpected costs.Business response
