Did a trade in with them 2 years ago and sold me a car that was way over the price of a brand new one with a high car note. I've been trying to refinance and can't because the balance is too high on loan and I'm upside down

Only 1 star because I had to:

I bought a 2016 Nissan Altima base model from McLarty Nissan on Colonel glen, the salesperson explained that I was financing my car for 5 years with payments at 463.99. Consequently, every time I would log in to pay my car note, I noticed it said I was at a percentage of pay-off that did not reflect my maturity date, which was 12/25/2021. However, today 12/09/2021, I thought I better call NMAC to make sure my last payment was 12/25/2021, and learned that McLarty had me in a balloon contract, which has a balance of $8,321.50. I called NMAC and they were confused as they explained that this was rare, being the maturity date is 12/25/2021, and I had the car 5 years with a 463.99 payment. I found out that the contract was drawn up as a balloon contract, nothing that was explained to me, and I trusted that the salesperson was in my best interest, and ultimately I have been taken by McLarty. I went to the location on Colonel Glen, and the finance manager was rude and told me there was nothing he could do, but that he had 2 options for me, to refinance the $8 thousand dollars with them, or sell them my car. He was so condescending stating, "You know we buy cars here." I told him, I do understand I traded in a 2014 Nissan to get the 2016. This is disturbing, and I feel like people will go out their way to ruin your life, and this is Christmas time...WOW!! I'm sorry, just beware of McLarty, I am sitting here crying can't stop, I just don't believe they mislead me like that. Also, do not take their word for anything...don't be like me and not read the contract, thinking these guys are really helping. As a note, I am not racist, but to African Americans, they will talk the talk, knowing there is not a lot of referencing the information they share with the contracts...READ YOUR CONTRACT!!!
A $22,000 dollar car turned out to be $35,500, which did not value at the time but for $16,000. They not only got double the payment, but if I don't pay the $8000 they will have the car I paid on for 5 years.

      12/23/2021

      Ms Jones,
We see that your experience with us was not satisfactory, and we want to apologize to you for not meeting your expectations. We are sending you a copy of your contract highlighted with the balloon payment verbiage and payment date, amount. Looks like this option was utilized to reduce your payment, otherwise your payment would have been considerably more monthly. We hope this clears up any confusion. Your business is important to us!

      Customer Response

      12/27/2021

I understand that you guys keep reinforcing the low payment. However, again...there was not a low payment, I have a base model Nissan Altima, it does not even have an "S" on it, and my payments were $463.99 monthly, if my payments were to assume $100 more, I would have been satisfied, and if this was explained on the front end. I notice these comments reflect a vague look at the contract. However, this was not explained to me on the front-end, that is the message I am trying to convey. If I could not pay $8,321.50 on the front-end, it is not likely, I would be able to pay it on the back-end. The communication with your service agent was deceiving, and that is the bottom line. Also, as I referenced in the letters I wrote to the CEO, and Customer Relations Director, I see how it looks on paper, but with a contract put in an envelope with a firm maturity date reflecting $463.99 for my last payment, is how the sales representative had me to believe, and felt like the business was handled, and did not have to retract the contract, because basically, I believed it because of Mclarty being a "prominent car lot." I am sorry that I made a decision to do business with this establishment, and I can safely say, it was the worst decision I have made in my list of 'bad choices."
