I got my car back from Blackwell Automotive yesterday at the end of business after being informed that the vehicle was now running and could be driven home ( which was the reason it was with them). It was only drivable now after multiple weeks of parts changeouts and labor mounting up and the vehicle continuously needing more and more. the first invoice was to get a new gas tank and clean the fuel system, authorized. 2600$ later the vehicle now needs a new fuel pump to be custom installed in the new fuel tank which was estimated to cost another 2000$, authorized and informed the company that that was the end of my budget for repairs. next invoice to my surprise was 5600$ and the car still wasn't running and I was informed that more repairs were needed. the explanation for this was that the technician was left unsupervised and allowed to rack up 3800$ in labor on just this one invoice which alone was more than the quoted estimate. After still not delivering on a running vehicle and completely disregarding the amount of money I was willing to spend I was forced to decide to tow the vehicle home or get it running. I was informed that the final step was to change out the fuel injectors. this was authorized but would only be responsible for parts charges, not labor. This gets done and now the alternator needs replaced. all this summed up, on Friday the 19th I get a call that the car is done, it is running and can safely be driven home, total costs upwards of 9500$. able to drive home was not necessarily the case as the car began to overheat on the way and by the time I pulled into my drive it was smoking and coolant was pouring out of the overflow and black liquid was coming out of the exhaust. come to find out, the technician noted that the car was overheating in his notes and that was not relayed to me before or during my pick-up after specifically asking if the car was in good working condition. needless to say the car is still not drivable.Business response
