After searching for a birth center for a place to deliver our baby we decided on Babymoon Inn. I am due 11/05/2024. We toured their facility and they sent us an estimate of how much we would be paying with insurance. On 05/16/2024 we paid their facility in cash the amount they estimated which was $5,715.00. On 06/10/2024 they called me informing me they would be shutting down by the end of the month. I emailed the recommended email **************************************** about receiving our refund and reconciliation and have no gotten a response. We had only one appointment with them and need to be refunded so we can find care elsewhere in order to deliver our baby in November. From what I heard they are shutting down due financial hardship.Initial Complaint

After an extensive ****** search and reviews from close friends, we decided to go with Baby Moon and deliver our first child with hopes of having a safe, low low intervention birth with a midwife present. We contacted Babymoon Inn on April 11, 2024, and scheduled our first appointment on April 12, 2024. We were given a tour and a packet of information regarding the cost of all services, including prenatal care, prenatal courses, and delivery at the ********* facility. We said we would think about it. We came back for our first prenatal visit at eight weeks on 5/9/2024 and paid all services in full for a total of $4365. We were told this included everything listed above for delivery at the **************** in December 2024. Our contract also states that we would receive a refund if care was not provided.When we paid in full, there was no indication that Babymoon was experiencing financial hardship and may shut down. We attended our 12-week visit on June 6, 2024, and were immediately told that Babymoon Inn would be closing by the end of the month and all care would cease. We were given very little explanation and absolutely zero explanation on how we would receive our money back so we could apply those funds to prenatal care from this point on. It was very concerning because we were told that the staff was not getting paid, and a nurse midwife had already left and found a new job at another birthing center. The midwife we saw today told us this was a brewing storm, which tells us that they knew the business was coming to an end, yet they took thousands of dollars from us, knowing that it would be needed to safely care for and deliver our child. We want a refund of the funds given so we can apply to a new provider for medical fees for this birth.Initial Complaint

I signed a contract with them for birth services at my first appointment on May 28, 2024. On Wed June 5, my check for $5,000 was cashed. I received a call at 7:30pm on *** June 7th being told that they were. Losing both locations withing 2 weeks and I would not be able to have my birth with them. I have been asking for a refund and ***** will connect with me on the matter and now it has been a month. I'm not sure where tp turn for help with this.
