An epcor technician came to my house to switch out the water meter. After he finished the main water shut off was leaking. When I called to ask if they would help at all with the fee of having someone come out to turn off the water from the curb shut off to have this valve replaced, they said its not their problem. Ive been with epcor all of 1 week. Best first impression ever.EPCOR Water Response

If there was an option for zero stars that would be the appropriate selection. Good luck trying to pay your bill, or perform any time of transaction with this company. All you'll receive is sympathy and unabashed acceptance that Epcore is a highly unorganized and inefficient company. Their service associates are friendly, however they hamstrung from offering actual tangible service. If we actually lived in a country where consumers do have utility options I would have ditched this awful company years ago.EPCOR Water Response

Absolutely garbage company. They will shut you off without a shut off notice and say that a bill from 2 months ago is justified.EPCOR Water Response

We appreciate the opportunity to respond. As a general practice, once a final letter is sent customers are subject to disconnection at any time after the date listed on the notice if no payment is received to bring the balance current. As a courtesy to customers for their safety during extremely hot temperatures, we waited for cooler weather before disconnecting services. This provided many customers such as yourself several months to make the necessary payments. If you have additional questions about your account, please feel free to reach out. They put my account on to pay over the phone or in person, when there locations aren't accepting payments in person. They make things so difficult and customer service *****.Review from Catherine P

We manage a property that is serviced by EPCOR. They last year had created 2 accounts for the same address. One was supposedly closed back in October, then this year a tenant moved in and had the water transferred to their name. We received a refund check in the mail and not a week later a bill. So a bit confused I emailed them since the customer service reps on the phone couldn't see the refund check at all. The email I got back stated that it was for one account the bill for another. I emailed back saying we only have one address that we get services for. They send me an oops. but still say we owe. So I sent a check in for the amount they first stated we owed. a week later they stated they fixed the account and we don't owe as much. Ok the check will cover it. They said they never received it. Odd.. So we wait thinking it was lost in the mail. NO... we get in the mail a photo copy of the check with a note hand written on it stating please send payments to this other address that the az office doesn't process payments... SINCE WHEN??? ALL our payment before that went to the same address. Now, we don't have that check, and when I sent everything i had on the accounts and the emails today all I go was you need to void that check and send new one to the IA address.Wasting more of our time that we need working with tenants and owners. They are a huge inefficient company that doesn't see what is going on or keep track of accounts very well.Make sure you don't have duplicate accounts with themReview from Jill A

EPCOR *****. They are 10 times worse then ************************ ever was. Telling me I have a leak in my house but we do not and wants to charge me almost 300 next month. How can you bill in advance for something you havent used yet? They do this and claim they do not do that but yeah they do. I think I would know if I have a leak in my house. I want my regular bill back. They are price gouging and its unacceptable. They also want to tell me I am on autopay for my acct clearing they dont know because I am not. I better not get charged twice either. I do not recommend using them. They deserve a half of a star but it doens't give me that choice. Get your act together.Review from william p

i have bin with epcor for 20 years and never missed a payment or bin late on a payment. I am very unhappy with their customer service and if i had to give a rating they wouldnt even get 1 star. Epcor advised customers to lock into fixed rates to avoid having to pay back what they call a ROR. Anyone who didnt lock in could face much higher bills. I spent hours on the phone and i finaly got through and locked into fixed rates. After locking in i was sent the highest bill i have ever had from epcor. I called them to complain and I had to go through 2 people before i got someone who was willing to help with my concerns. The help I got was very disapointing and not worth the time I spent trying to get a fair deal. I found that the company was more willing to get rid of a good customer rather then try to resolve the issue. I see a company who cares only about getting their money and not about the customers that keep them in buisness. ( I have to give a 1 star rating in order to poste this but in reality that is way too high)EPCOR Water Response

One of the most scandalous billing practices. As you can see by others if your water use stays the exact same it doesn't matter. Every month the bill goes up. Since they have a monopoly and took over **************. No my bill has gone up about 30 percent in the last 6 months. Same water usage just more or increased fees monthly. There be a class action lawsuit against this place.EPCOR Water Response

Thank you for providing an opportunity for EPCOR to explain. EPCOR is a regulated utility that is overseen by the Arizona ********************** (ACC). EPCORs new rates for the San Tan region were reviewed and approved by the Arizona ********************** on May 1, 2022. The monthly wastewater charge was increased by $7.06 a month at that time. As EPCORs San Tan water district has been a member of the Central Arizona Groundwater Replenishment District (CAGRD) since ****, San Tan customers are subject to a Sustainable Water Surcharge (*** fee) that is based off water usage and charged per every **** gallons of usage. The *** fee is a pass through charge that is adjusted annually and approved by the **** Effective December 1, 2022 the *** fee was adjusted from $2.83 per **** gallons of usage to $3.88 per **** gallons of usage for those receiving water from the ******* ***************** Area of the ****** These increases directly affect customers with water and wastewater service in the EPCOR *************** area, and are not tied to the county they reside in but the district the water that serves them comes from. Epcor is the definition of a scam organization, I have been spaying ******** ** for water since I had my account created and service was started, money is verified being removed from my account and I can see the balance sheet showing such. Epcor came today and turned my water off stating no payment has been made in a year and SOMEHOW the amount is the exact cost of what I have paid Surprise over the span of the last year. I do not understand how this can happen with an organization forcing someone to double pay for services with zero recourse of a basic life necessity such as water. Do no consider them A+ and I am shocked looking at the reviews how they have this somehow.Review from Vince R

After having dealt with Epcor for over 5 weeks in order to have an overpayment I sent in returned to me, I can fully understand why there are so many 1 star ratings.I first contacted Epcor on Jan 23 after receiving notification from my bank that my payment to Epcor had been processed. I was told by Epcor at that time that they did see the error and would refund the overpayment within 5 to 10 business days. It wasnt until after the end of that 10 day period on Feb 3rd, that I was again contacted by Epcor advising me that due to the amount of the overpayment, I would now have to wait until Feb 23 to receive the refund due to their fictitious concerns that, my bank could retract that payment within 30 days of receipt. I say their concerns were fictitious because, I was informed by my bank whom I also called on Jan 23, that once a payment has been deducted from my account, transferred to the recipients account and processed which occurred on Jan 23. There is no way a bank could then access that recipients account and take back that deposit. However, this did not deter Epcor from refusing to return my refund as initially promised. In fact, prior to Feb 23, I was again notified by Epcor on Feb 4th, one day after being told on Feb 3rd that my refund would be issued on Feb 23rd, that my refund would now not be issued until Feb 28th. So much for their 30 day waiting period as this would now make it 36 days since they received my overpayment. As it turns out, my refund was not issued and mailed until March 1st which was 37 days after receipt.I firmly believe the delay was due to Epcor not being concerned about any repercussions from incidents like this with their customers. When this occurs with utility suppliers like Epcor, the consumer doesn't have the option of leaving like they can with their internet, cable or telephone services so, companies like Epcor can say or do what ever they like with no fear of losing a customer.
