On Tues. Aug.1, I left a $2500 deposit for a totalled car that I wanted to keep. The car was towed to Southland Collision Fri. Aug 4. The next day and for the rest of that week I called, texted and emailed owner ************************* to inform him that I no longer wanted the work done and that ***** needed to pick up the car. I also told him that I'd be needing that $2500 deposit back. He didn't respond to me until Sat. Aug 12 with a text asking, "What happened to your insurance? They need to pick up your car. You never sent me your claim nuumber. I'm out of town, my ex had a stroke." I went there to clean the car out and attempted to contact ****** for the next seven days trying to collect my money. No response from him until Sat. Aug 14 saying his ex was in the hospital and that he'll see me Monday to take care of the problem. I didn't hear from him again until Aug 25 telling me his office was broken into and that his computer and printer were stolen. Still not a word about my $2500 deposit. For the rest of Aug. and all of Sept. ******, has given me the run around, avoiding my phone calls, not responding to my texts and never at work when I show up. When ***** went to retrieve the car the tow truck driver could not sign off on the $250/day storage fees ****** was charging and needed approval for the $5000+ bill. I thought he'd pay me back with that money. NOTHING. On Sat Sept. 23 I was finally able to catch ****** at the shop and asked him for my money. His excuse this time was that he had been in the hospital from excessive drinking symptoms. He told me to go by the following Sat. Sept 30 and he'd have some money for me. Sat. I show up and he's nowhere to be found. He's not answering or returning my repeated calls nor is he responding to my numerous texts. The work his shop has done for me in the past was sub par quality. Sandpaper was left under my hood close to the engine, the car was not washed, paint flecks were all over the car and the paint did not match.
