Purchased a automobile cover from this company on October 08, 2024 for $136.00. I receied a confirmation Email. The tracking # was invlid. Tried to contact them Via Email but it takes you to someone elses website. Called them and was told that my invoice number was not one of theirs. Sent them a screen shot of it and was given the run around. I do not trust this company. It feels like a scam.Business response

I purchased the Gold Shield car cover from carcover.com for my sons classic car, which included a lifetime warranty. When I initially contacted the company and provided picture evidence of the beginning of deterioration of the cover, I was told (the same as others) that I had to pay $30 in shipping fees. As queried by other complainants, why should I pay MORE for a defective product? Due to several deaths in the family & other extenuating circumstances, my attempts to resolve this were delayed. When I again reached out to the company, my cover had completely disintegrated. At this time, I was informed that the company now had a prorated lifetime warranty and they would only cover a small amount of the replacement (I believe it was approx 20%), despite the lifetime warranty promised at the time of purchase, which was honored when I had initially called with issues (despite requiring shipping charges). The company failed to acknowledge that the terms of the lifetime warranty cannot be altered after purchase.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: it is insufficient to explain the companys response. I purchased this cover with full replacement warranty. Now I am told it has been changed to limited pro-rated warranty. If the company is willing to replace the cover (which has 100% disintegrated), I will accept a replacement. But I will not spend more money for a lifetime cover that completely fell apart, leaving my classic vehicle exposed to the elements.

July 27, 2023 I received the car cover that I paid $127.49. It came with a lifetime warranty. About 2 months later I had trouble with the antenna patch not sticking to cover. When I contacted them to get a new patch they told me just to glue it, which I thought was very unprofessional. After the first rain i noticed that water was getting in on the waterproof car cover. Then about 10 months after purchasing it, I noticed a lot of dust on my classic car. Everytime I take the car cover off, I had to clean the car because of so much dust. I tried shaking the cover out and following there instructions to clean it but nothing worked, still super dusty. Then on August 3rd it tore. I contacted them to get a refund and they will not refund me the money. They want me to give them $45 to get a new one. Why would I give them anymore money for car cover that doesn't keep water or dust out and tears in 1 year. I just want my $127.49 back. *******************Carcover.com wanted me to remove the complaint before they would do anything. They left phone # ************. I tried calling the phone and no one answered. They should just refund me the $127.49 I already emailed them multiple times asking for a refund and they want me to give them $45 so they can me another cover. The cover didn't provide the protection my classic car needed why would I want another one and why would I give them another $45. It's ridiculous.

We offer a prorated warranty, which is why there is a fee involved. Many factors come into play when covering your car, including the maintenance of the cover, which we cannot control. Since everyone's situation is different, we will resolve the issue in your favor once the complaint is removed. We have done nothing wrong and are simply following the procedures you accepted when placing your order with us.

I am rejecting this response because: within 2 months the antenna patch wouldn't stick anymore, they said just glue it. First rain left my car wet. Then a few more months later it was leaving my rare classic car full dust. After following their instructions to clean it, it still was leaving my car full of dust. Then it started to deteriorate and then it tore. All in the first year. This us supposed to be a waterproof, dustproof uv proof with lifetime warranty car cover that didn't even last one year. Now they want me to pay them $45. I don't want another poorly made car cover to cover my rare classic car. I just want the $127.49 back that I wasted on this poorly made cover so I can purchase a nice cover to protect my rare classic car

I ordered a car dash cover through their website a certain color which looked like a very dark brown they called oak, when I receive the dash cover it was a light color beige. I contacted them and they told me to send it back and they would send me all I needed to do so. All I RECEIVED was a address and phone number to a different company and telling me I was going to get charged a 15% restock fee. this isn't even my fault. I was expecting a return label. We purchased the Gold Shield RV cover and what was sent to us was not the Gold Shield cover at all. The product had a rip in it, it was extremely thin material, the product was not at all what is described on the website. We received a RV cover with only 2 buckles/straps on the side, and the website shows 6 on the side with reinforced stitching. The website states Lifetime Warranty with money back guarantee if not fully satisfied. We have had to purchase stretch wrap and fabric tape to hold the cover in place as well as extra straps in order to hold the cover in place because we did not get the items we expected according to their website description and photos.Business response

************ offers a lifetime warranty on all of their products, but does not honor it. I submitted a ******** replacement request for a ********* car cover. I have had the Gold Shield ** on my car for approximately 6 months and it is already falling apart. It is not offering the protection that ************ guarantees. When applying for the warranty, they acknowledged it was defective and that it needed to be replaced. However ************ expects me to cover the shipping costs of 30+ dollars. I would understand if i was somehow at fault, however i am not okay with investing an ADDITIONAL 30 dollars into my already pour ****** dollar purchase.Business response

I mistakenly filed this complaint against the wrong company, ************* (Complaint ***********). It should have been carcover.com. No "s". So, I'm re-filing the complaint against the accurate company now, carcover.com. In short... Ordered a motorhome cover 8/20/20 from ************* Liked the cover. Had to order a replacement under warranty via email 12/16/21. Had to pay *** shipping on the replacement for the 1st time in my 17 years of motorhome covers. Didn't arrive for months. Called ************ several times. Was told still on back order and "should ship soon". Finally, they blamed ******** truck protest blocking the border. Replacement cover finally arrived some time in April 2022. Wrong cover. Zipper for the door now way too far back. Called Carcover.com again. Told "Sorry"... Warranty only covers 1 replacement. Now, that zipper in the wrong place? It's busted. Wide open, flapping in the wind. Called Carcover.com again. Told again "Sorry"... Warranty only covers 1 replacement. Now recently, I covered the Bounder just this week after 15 days on the road. Cloud of gray dust. Yes, that wrong replacement cover with the busted zipper is now deteriorating into a pile of dust. Is this a health hazard? Called Carcover.com once again. Told to initiate warranty requests through email and was hung up on. So used email as told to. Received automatic response "Your request (xxxxxx) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff. To add additional comments, reply to this email." Still waiting on their latest response. Maybe short-staffed like the rest of the country? Again, company is ************* NOT **************
