1) I contracted with Top Tier on 4/9/22 for remodel work on my main home and to convert a 3-car garage into an ADU and a 2 car garage into a JADU. Total price was $325,000. The owner, ********************* and his partner ************************* told me it would take approx. 13 weeks to complete the work. The owner ********************* told me he is walking away from the project and he filed bankruptcy. His company was having financial issues. I called the bankruptcy court and they have no record of him filing.2) I also contracted for a new heating and air conditioner for $25,445 to be installed. It was installed and there were several issues and I had another company inspect their work and was told certain items are not up to code and needed to be fixed. I was give a price of $18,000 to repair their sub par work and bring the unit to code.3) I paid for all the materials upfront for a total of $80,000. The materials were never delivered and I was not given a break down of everything ordered which I was told I would receive. ********************* informed me he did not buy the materials and had no money to purchase them now.4) There is an issue with the company's workmanship and I was given wrong information regarding electrical work. All his mistakes are costing me more money.5) I had 2 other contractors come out to see the cost to complete the work and the lowest bide is $265,000 and they are concerned about his workmanship and the price may increase once they start working.6) *** committed fraud and took advantage of me as a senior citizen. I drained my savings and 401K for the remodel. I took out a home equity loan as well.7) The remodel work is 32% done and I have paid approximately 80% for the work.8) Most of his work didn't pass inspection from the **************** the first time. It took 4 months the work he did to pass inspection after numerous attempts on his part to pass. I spoke with an inspector regarding this and he told me it was because he was cutting corners and they would not allow it.Customer response

The contract was for a turn key *** and J*** with 15 years warranty for labor and material. The contractor did partial framing and has not completed the contracted work. He completed about 30% of the work but I have paid him 85% of the contracted work.
By turn key the *** and **** would be fully inspected by the **************** to be livable. All framing, external and interior walls constructed. All electrical and plumbing completed. Shower installed, hot water heater installed, air/heat installed, toilet installed, kitchen cabinets built and installed. Kitchen island built and installed.
The contractor barely finished framing, no outside walls were installed and no interior work done. All materials were paid for in advance but not delivered.
