In March 2023, *********************** ordered a new wheelchair from Endeavor Medical Supply in *******, **********. ****************** is paralyzed in 3 limbs and lives in Villa Del Sol Convalescent Facility. She is fully functional cognitively and can express herself clearly. As her friend and advocate of many years, she has frequently spoken to me about the difficulty of getting a vehicle with a ramp and interior space sufficient for her 24 WHEEL*****. She has had to miss many doctors appointments because the vehicle sent could not accommodate a 24 wheel chair.When an employee of Endeavor came to measure her, **** STATES THAT SHE WAS NOT ASKED OR GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE HER NEEDS KNOWN. It states on her invoice that there is a 25% restocking fee for returns, but only if the concerns are brought up on delivery. ***************** also states that HER ***** WAS DROPPED OFF OUTSIDE THE DOOR OF HER ROOM. SHE NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO SIT IN IT OR RECOGNIZE WHETHER SHE HAD CONCERNS. When she eventually got a chance to sit in her chair, she realized it was WIDER THAN THE ***** SHE HAS NOW, WHICH WILL MAKE IT EVEN HARDER TO FIND TRANSPORTATION AND WILL GIVE HER EVEN LESS ACCESS TO OUTSIDE MEDICAL ATTENTION, WHICH IS SEVERELY LIMITED ALREADY. As soon as she could after she sat in her new chair (and could get to the invoice copy in her back carry bags) she called to express her concerns about the feasibility of this chair and was told she had no recourse. ****************** was given NO INPUT WHEN THE ***** WAS ORDERED AND NO INPUT ON DELIVERY. Because of her disability, it appears that decisions were made with her money over which she was given no say. Her first choice would be to exchange this chair for a 24 one that is lighter and more manageable for her. If that is not possible, she is asking that she be at least given the option to return the chair, which has sat folded up against the wall since the one time she sat in it, even if she had to forfeit the restocking fee.
