I stopped by a local furniture store on Sunday, November 5, 2023 because I was looking for a dresser for my bedroom. I spoke to the only person inside the store, an older dark- skinned Latino man whom introduced himself as ********. ******** picked up a catalogue and showed me the dressers that could be ordered. I observed that there were no dressers inside the establishment. There were, however lots of chairs and tables. As I saw the catalogue, ******** started writing on a sales book immediately the color of the furniture I wanted. I was hesitant to buy it because I wanted to see it physically instead of just ordering something through catalogue. I was almost going to just walk away until I was convinced to purchase it as long as he would haul back my old dresser that I didnt want at my house. I had agreed with the man ******** that I would purchase a cherry- light colored dresser from the catalogue for $200 and it would be delivered to my house on Friday 11/10/23 afternoon. I had agreed to give a deposit of $100 paid through *********************. The only information ******** gave me was the phone number to send payment, which was **************. On Wednesday 11/8/23, I attempted to call ******** because I had a question about the invoice receipt. ******** wrote refrigerator instead of dresser. This was a red flag for me and the invoice was very generic had no information about the business address. I attempted to call, but he never answered. I even attempted to call the business card he had left me with a different phone number, and answered however, hung up immediately. I waited until Friday, 11/10/23 to call back but did not respond on this day, which was the agreed day of delivery. ******** called until Saturday 11/11/23 telling me he needed to wait for the paint to dry to be able to wrap it in plastic and transport it. He told me he would call me the next day Sunday 11/12/23. However, he never called and even I attempted to call him, he never responded.
