I am filing a complaint regarding a 2019 Certified Used Lexus********* I purchased for $46,273 from Lexus of Glendale ************* through Sales Consultant***********. A Certified Used Lexus Vehicle is put through an rigorous 161-point checklist. The section of the L/CERTIFIED BY LEXUS checklist under VEHICLE EXTERIOR, EXTERIOR APPEARANCE, article #7 Body damage/dents/dings/paint chips/scratches, indicates the inspection was passed. However, upon receipt of my vehicle in ******** on 9/08/22 I discovered a scrape/scratch on the left rear door below the door handle. Article #7 should not have passed the checklist. The second issue under VEHICLE INTERIOR, RELEASE LEVERS, article #84 Fuel Lid, the fuel release lever opens the fuel lid door. However the lid door does not lock open and the fuel cap cannot be placed on the lid holder. The lid must be physically held open with one hand while filling up the fuel tank with the other hand. This is a defect and was not repaired during inspection. In regards to the scrape/scratch on the left rear door below the door handle, I filed a claim ********** with shipping company ***** upon receipt of the vehicle ***********. The ***** claim adjuster contacted me and informed me prior to ***** accepting the Lexus for shipping from **********************, the scrape/scratch on the left rear door below the door handle was documented and noted on the ***** checklist document. This indicates the scrape/scratch was on the left rear door below the door handle of the Lexus prior to shipping to ******** and was not caused by *****. My claim with ***** was denied. I made an appointment and brought the Lexus to ****************************** on 9/14/22 to obtain an estimate to repair the damage. The estimate was sent to me on 9/22/22 and the estimated total cost to repair the damage is $1945.10. I have an appointment schedule to obtain a second estimate on 10/18/22 with *************************************** I have more details, no space leftBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/10/20) */ Mr. ****** purchased a certified Lexus ** that passed the 161-point inspection. The spring that holds open the gas lid has malfunctioned since the inspection and should be covered under warranty. The scratch on the left rear door happened during transportation to the logistics company before it was shipped *********. We are in communication with MR. ****** to resolve his two concerns. As a loyal multi lexus owner i went again for another lexus during the times when cars were overpriced due to shortages, Lexus of glendale sold me Red Tag Sale vehicle, from $***** they dropped to *** and only now i understand why. Ive been sold a totally deffective vehicle, tried multiple times to have a humane resolution however the headquarters rejected my case, even with proofs, and lexus dealer verified almost all of my complains. The dealer service rejected to input my complaints on my 2nd or 3rd trip, since they were already mad at the technician who test drove the vehicle and confirmed the deffects /issues with the car. Sales Department offered me to take a $****** loss for a 4 month old vehicle with 3k miles, in order to exchange my vehicle. All bumpers are uneven with big gaps, the whole interior is rattling, transmission is laging to upshift at low gears, and downshifts with kicks, dashboard leather is sunburnt, brakes are squeeking and more... i currently have 3 of the same cars same models all 3 of them are 2021, and only this one has these issues. All this time the dealer only offered to try and change the interior panel, and service mannager told me they cant do anything else about physical deffects since they are not a bodyshop. I do not deserve to be treated like this and i wont stop and will do anything within law to protect me from being scammed until a fair resolution is offered. NOTE* I DO have evidence of service department mocking me and laughing at me behind my back which will be presented at court if they choose that route.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/05/06) */ Mr. ******* is a very loyal Lexus customer. unfortunately, he purchased a vehicle he is not completely satisfied with. Lexus corporate has inspected the vehicle and found all is within normal characteristics. Lexus of Glendale has made the decision to trade him out for a new vehicle of his choice. Mr. ******* is now driving a new Lexus that he is very happy with. The goal of Lexus of Glendale is to make all of our customers 100% satisfied.
