My HVAC system has had problems. I've had to contact HVAC technicians to access the problems and they have found there is a leak in the coils. When reaching out to Tripoint to help they refuse to speak about the problem and told me that it is my problem to deal with. The technicians stated that the builders should be responsible. Problem 2, my garage door gas been effected by wind and it has warped the door. Called tripoint to have the garage door fixed as tripoint was very aware of the problems that had happened to numerous of our neighbors and they still do nothing.Business response

Tri Pointe Homes inspected the consumer’s HVAC system, and it was determined that the consumer had not been properly maintaining the HVAC system (as detailed in the maintenance manual provided by Tri Pointe to the consumer at the time of purchase of the home). As a courtesy, Tri Pointe installed new air filters. With respect to the garage door, after inspection it was determined that the consumer altered the door by adding a piece of lumber, which is interfering with the seal; there is no installation defect or defect of any kind. Tri Pointe considers this matter closed.Initial Complaint

They come out to my house and tell me this is all normal and theres nothing they can do. Somehow its our fault.Im tired of arguing. I need my house fixed.Business response

This is a new build home. Complaints start from the beginning of the process..almost missed close dates no communication etc. There were over 40 issues found on inspection and we were lied to about the completion of the repairs. Our AC has broken 4 times in two months. We have toilets coming out of the ground, the ceilings are bowing, the interior paint is cracking, we have no water pressure and no cold water. Our "stainless steel" appliances are actually plastic and are already falling apart. We have been promised fixes and repairs but they just keep lying to us. This is a 650k house and it is two months old. We have had more issues here than we had in our previous house in years of living there. They hire cheap unskilled labor and have supervisors who do not check anything. We have found live open wires behind light switches, and our ac panel almost caught on fire. We have 3 small children here and this house is a disaster waiting to happen..they have made no effort or comment to fix our issues and when they actually do say something it is a complete lie and nothing happens. All of our neighbors are having the same issues. We paid a lot of money for this house and it is terribly build and the whole process has been a nightmare four our family. I am also a disabled veteran. Please investigate, they are s******* people over and not doing anything to help.Business response

Tri Pointe and this customer are working together towards resolution with repairs scheduled through August 30th.Customer response

Scheduling BS repairs for items that should never have passed inspection shows both negligence and incompetence in your part. We have a 40 item spreadsheet (so far) of horrible craftsmanship and supervision. We have only lived here for two months and ha e had over 25 visits from people coming to do "repairs". I wouldn't call that working together. It is tripoint bullshitting around their horrible construction managers and lack of care for their buyers. I do no accept.

After seven months into the construction period, they encountered an issue with the foundation due to a water leak from a broken pipe. This incident occurred during the preparation for the foundation pour when a wooden stake was driven through the pipe.TriPointe did not inform me of this issue until I inquired about the closing date, raising concerns about whether they attempted to conceal the problem. Now, the builder is stating that we will not receive any money back if we choose to back out. We lost trust on TriPointe Homes Construction. It clearly shows their neglegence while constructing.Business response

I purchased and closed my house with Tripointe homes , **************** in *********** ,** on April 19 2024. Recently our area got affected with a storm and it ripped off my roof tiles. I had contacted the builder and they are not ******* responsible for the repairs even though my home is under warranty. They are claiming that it is Act Of God and we are not responsible for the repairs. How come a new home not older than 3 months have the roof tiles ripped off. Only Tripointe built homes are affected with the storm in our community and other builder homes are not affected. Am getting poor response from the builder whenever I try to contact them. I lost faith and belief on Tripointe homes and will not refer to anyone.Business response

Tri Pointe Homes sympathizes with the consumer about the damage caused by the recent storms. However, Tri Pointe was not the only builder whose homes were affected. Indeed, in a public announcement, the ************************ noted the following: "On the evening of July 24th[, 2024], several thunderstorms developed across the ************* area. These thunderstorms resulted in several microbursts, defined as downward acceleration of strong winds emanating from the parent thunderstorm . The stronger microbursts, the ones that produced the most widespread damage, came from an isolated thunderstorm that developed over north-central *******." The ************************ reported on the significant nature of the wind speeds and the property damage (and one death) that resulted. Tri Pointe's limited warranty excludes damages caused by this type of weather event. Tri Pointe encouraged the consumer to contact their homeowners insurance company. Tri Pointe considers this matter closed.Customer response

My husband closed on a new construction townhouse in Dec 2023. Within just 6 months, we are dealing with roof leak. Warranty team is in the middle of resolving it, however, we are no longer able to use two areas of new home, we have fans and humidifiers in this room and garage. It is frustrating that within 6 months, we already have a roof leak and the roof was not properly inspected and installation was not done properly.Business response

It wa promised that 2 weeks within closing all the pending job in the home will be completed sich as shoe molding, chnage in stove hood(dented) and bathroom fixtures etc, we had a flooding in the home because the pipe came off in february, entirely fault of the installer. We wanted the floor replaced, bathroom needs to be replaced, a lot of unfinished job, its been 3 montha after the flooding and none of the items were fixed and were not re-imbursed with the damages. Also the stuff that was supposed to be fixed back in December was not even completed. I am asking your help as we sent multiple emails and call them, they have not replied.Business response

Moved into the house 5/2022 and we're still dealing with 1-year walkthrough issues. Tri Pointe attempted a repair of the master bathroom shower 11/2023 (tile edge wasn't water rated and was disintegrating); however, the replacement tiles were a completely different color. Additionally, floor tiles were chipped during the repair and the drywall was damaged. I have contacted my customer rep multiple times via email and phone call to get this addressed and there has been no progress in getting this scheduled. I'm seeking Tri Pointe to make this right by satisfactorily completing the repairs to our master shower.Business response

Representatives of Tri Pointe Homes met with the consumer at his home to inspect his concerns about his primary bathroom shower. As Tri Pointe informed the consumer, Tri Pointe ordered new pieces of surface bullnose tile and, upon delivery, will meet in person with the consumer to evaluate the color match with the currently installed tiles and discuss options. Thereafter, Tri Pointe will reinstall the shower glass with the new trim, repair the drywall and paint on the bathroom ceiling, and make the cosmetic repair of the two damaged floor tiles outside the shower. Unless the consumer wants Tri Pointe to provide an update to the BBB at the conclusion of this process, Tri Pointe considers this matter closed.Initial Complaint

Tri Pointe has scheduled its landscaping trade partner to improve upon landscape areas with either repair or replacement concerns. That work is scheduled for 6/26, depending on weather.

The consumer closed escrow on his home less than 3 months ago. Regarding the consumer's flooring concerns, on June 5, 2024,representatives of Tri Pointe and Tri Pointe's flooring trade partner met with the consumer at his home to discuss his concerns and inspect the flooring. During this inspection, it was determined that the flooring is functioning as intended and there are no warrantable deficiencies. Tri Pointe and its flooring trade partner agreed to schedule a carpet technician to hammer down the tack strips along the consumer's stairs and check the 2nd floor doorways and areas where the flooring transitions to make sure there aren't any sharp areas. Tri Pointe also informed the consumer that if he has concerns regarding the home's foundation and how the flooring will respond as the home settles, Tri Pointe and its flooring trade partner will inspect the home prior to the expiration of the 1-year workmanship warranty. The consumer rejected this offer, claiming that he is going to pay for a 3rd party flooring inspection and will send Tri Pointe the report. Tri Pointe will review any report provided, but it does not agree that any repairs are required. Tri Pointe considers this matter closed.Business response
