Unfortunately, some aspects of the Corinthian Colleges unethical behaviors have continued in the California school, Northcentral University 2018-2023/National University *********. The student contract illegally states students must arbitrate in their state of residence before suing the California school. However, such a thing is illegal & not possible according to lawyers in ******** (the state the Navy assigned me), facts echoed by the California lawyers I was referred to. ******************* legal judgement found the schools unethically wrote student contracts to hinder students from seeking legal academic justice once preyed upon. Please help me & future students who may be unaware, or unknowingly currently being victimized. It was only after my problems were unresolved, I researched all this information. None of the information of the schools legal conflicts were provided upfront! I found an online conversation between the schools board of trustees who inquired about the potential of legal concerns prior to the school merger from *** to NU. Board members were falsely told, the complaints were from students who did not meet the school's requirements. Meanwhile, my email containing **************** of my experiences were yet circulating via email to all school executive admin. All my information retrieved and shared online from my lived experience, and stored offline, proves I met the **************** have the legal concerns previously dismissed as not valid. My academic writings are circulating internationally. My intent is not to expose anyone. I only want help NOW! The school bullied me into over paying, lied claiming they were helping me, then withdrew me from school falsely claiming I quit. The school intended to overwhelm me with debt! My student loans are now past due! The ** tried to advocate for me. But the school stopped responding when I informed them their school's judicial officer suggested I take all my evidence & sue the school via a recorded call.Review from Kristin L

If I could give zero stars I would. I enrolled in 2020 to begin the pre-requisites for the **** in Radiation Therapy. I was 52 years old at the time and a cancer survivor. I was told that federal financial aid was not possible since the classes were accelerated format, and that I could not declare a major until I was accepted into the Radiation Therapy program upon completing the pre-requisites. So I had to take out ****** *** loans to pay for schooling and books. I finished courses throughout 2020 and halfway into 2021. In fall 2021, right when I was set to finish the last of the pre-requisites and apply to the ** program, National University's ** program all of a sudden didn't show up on JR-CE**'s website as being accredited, and the school's website for the ** program said "NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATONS."I was never notified that this was going to happen. I called the advisor and was told the program was no longer going to be offered. I was already $19K into student loans for this. The only other undergrad JR-CE** accredited program in ******************* was ***************, which was too far away for me (I had a son in school and a job where I lived, so I couldn't move). I waited to figure out what to do, and found out ********************** was opening a program in 2022. When I contacted them, they told me none of the classes I took at ** would transfer and I would have to start their program over from scratch. I was already 1.5 years into the ** program, and was 54 going on 55. There was no way I could commute to *** Nuys and start all over. I appealed to ** for a refund of my classes, and all they sent me was enough to cover the cost of ONE class that I took. So now I am stuck with over $20K in student loans for classes that didn't transfer anywhere else, and for a program that was cancelled.Shame on you, **. I will be contacting my lawyer.Review from Kathleen D

I have been attending the University since 2021 with ADA ************** The University and the professors have been aware of my condition. My condition worsened and I had to have several procedures throughout the term. I alerted the professor and financial advisor from week 1, week 3, and again at week 5 when my condition became untenable. There was no response. I asked my financial advisor to call. This forced me to work through cervical and spinal stenosis while getting radiofrequency ablation, and other treatments. Finally, the doctors decided there were no other options but surgery. Finally, the financial advisor answered only when I added MFS advising. She then tried to blame me for the problem because of my wording. It is a common courtesy to return emails and phone calls. National University has failed to accommodate that. Furthermore, after the class, they never responded to my LOA, threatened to withdraw me if I did not take another class administratively, and then did so. Now they withhold all of my personal information and will not allow me access to it. They tried to force me to continue taking classes even though I am handicapped and have an ADA ************** This is outrageous! Furthermore, I should be allowed access to my documents. This university is unreal!Review from Chhiv R

I have called multiple times for the past 6 months and almost always have to speak with someone different because the different advisors and enrollment specialists I leave messages for do not return my messages. The new ones try to help and we always get stuck on the same step: they get ready to register me for my class and tell me they will update me and silence. Nothing. When I leave a message on their direct line, the cycle starts again. I just want to take one methodology course with them. I don't understand why it is so hard. They really need to do an internal audit of their system and their employees if they want to stay in business. If I hadn't already taken one methodology class and earned a credential with them 11 years ago, I would have thought National University a scam.Review from Ashley C

This will be my 2nd class while attending National University and I read a different set of reviews before my start date about the school and most were true, especially when the ppl complained about getting ignored and the unprofessionalism. They do take their time replying to a email. The information they have online is not what can be relied on when it comes to financial aid. There really isn't nobody to talk to about issues because you'll be waiting probably 2 weeks or more for a response. I was told financial aid disburse every 4 months when I did get a response and my question was how often do the students get their credit balance. So, I currently see enough aid disbursed for 4 classes meaning, since I'm 2 classes in it's aid left for 2 more classes. But I'm still waiting on a credit balance and is 45 days in almost on the 3rd class in another week. So to me it's looking like they don't disburse aid every 4 months, or 2 classes won't be getting paid for out of the 4 months, or I just won't be receiving my credit balance and they about to disburse aid for ***** This was supposed to be a ***** day wait. I wouldn't have never thought I'd be approaching the 45th day and was told, it'll probably take longer depending on the processing department. Online say 10 days after disbursement. Then my current class i noticed my discussion post in class was deleted. Worst off while waiting on my credit balance, I got a balance of $274 I'm like where did that come from. I've been in a school before that will charge a down payment to a house on your account and expect you to pay it back. I'm not even about to play that. Then they tells me I gotta take a 3 months break in October. They messed up Mother's day, now the holidays Xmas, new years, thanksgiving. The advisor said she don't know why imma have to take that 3 month break. That's crazy. Then I asked my professor how or where to check my papers in "turnitin" since it's required she said she don't know. Is the school real?Review from Andre J

This business is very unorganized and unprofessional; the learning materials that are used often are more than 5-6 years old and outdated. The staff is unprofessional, the VA ********** was supposed to get verification of my enrollment on 04/22 and did not receive it until 05/15 despite it being a 2 business day process. Professors are unorganized, I had to go to my advisor to ensure I was never paired with a professor again; because, he refused to unlock the course unless I met with him and from the first week he didn't have availability until 4 weeks into the course. After complaining, sending documentation, and emails between me and the professor; the school sided with the professor despite the irrefutable evidence against the professor. I was forced to either accept an F or take more classes to bring my gpa back above a 3.0 so I can at least transfer. I originally enrolled in North-central and they were great; but when National University took over it has gone down hill and the standards for the workers are nonexistent. NEVER ENROLL HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY!!!Review from David B

I was automatically withdrawn from the university due a financial aid system error. I was supposed to list it as Northcentral university on my FAFSA. I was placed in the returning student program. I waited for Three months. My advisor for re-entry was *********************. She rarely communicated with me and was almost never available. I called each week and could never get a straight response for any of the other re-entry team advisors. I was told there was a backlog and that they really had no idea when I would be starting classes. It seemed like they really didn't have it together and that there was a lot of disorganization. I am choosing to pursue my degree somewhere else. For the price the customer service was absolutely terrible.Review from Amber T

This school was the biggest scam! I started with this school because of its promise of flexibility and fast track to my BSN. In the end they cost me so much time and money and I ended up completing my degree with a different university. Online and in person classes had little to no support. I completed courses and then they would change the curriculum so the classes I took were obsolete and new classes were added to obtain my degree. This was hands down the worst educational experience I have experienced.National University Response

Due to privacy regulations, we cannot release students information in a public forum. However, we can provide information on the basic requirements for admission to the *** program at NU. All candidates must complete certain prerequisite courses not part of the *** program but necessary to demonstrate their ability to understand essential math and science concepts. It is important to note that completing these prerequisites at NU does not guarantee automatic acceptance into the *** program. Candidates must still meet the minimum scores/requirements in their TEAS and the Math and Science courses. If students fail on their first attempt, they can improve their Math and Science skills and reapply to the program.Review from Yamyah B

Im really starting to hate this school. Im think about transferring. I have currently lost my health insurance and job due to the negligence of this school. I have literally been trying to get answers about the credential program and how the service provider works and no one has any answers. Theyre saying **** days TO ANSWER A QUESTION!! This is ridiculous. But its okay, because they still have their jobs and health insurance.National University Response

I gave four stars because the only issue Ive had has been how expensive this college is. I have currently been attending National University for four months and everything has been a pleasant experience. I had some complication with admissions, and I did get a few different answers. But I eventually spoke to the right person, and everything was cleared away. I do think their staff needs to be trained better, I received a different answer to a very important question two different times. I do have the transfer to a college in my state due to how expensive National University is. I receive the most possible financial aid and I still owe $289, I don't know how that happened. Maybe because of the lack of grants and scholarships because I don't live in **********. I am hoping to find a school in my state that offers 4 week terms like NCU. Four week terms are the easiest way to go through college, in my opinion. As far as the professors, every professior Ive experienced with have been pleasant. I honestly wish I could stay at National University, but there is no way. I was hoping to use some of my financial aid for some of my indirect coa, and that's just not possible. NCU should offer better more scholarships
