The only account we had through Unify FCU was for a car loan. A semi-trailer made a unsafe lane change and merged into our vehicle, rendering it totaled. Fortunately, we had GAP coverage on the vehicle and insurance paid out what they would. There was a balance of ******* left on the account from the original loan. We were then forced to get another vehicle and then had a new car payment. Unify did nothing to work with us in achieving a lower payment to continue paying for the debt. They would allow nothing but the full payment or full payoff amount. We had never been delinquent nor missed a payment prior to the accident, they had no person care or forgiveness. The customer service is absolutely terrible. They would assure us that notes were being made in the account but anytime we'd call to check on all the hoops they were requiring we jump through, no one: 1) knew what we were talking about 2) all the agents were extremely confrontational and, 3) the manager in the collections department would rarely, if ever take calls. The calls are all recorded and there were multiple times they had to review the calls that were recorded to give any leniency on their staunch positions. This company needs a revamp of their customer service model. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is talking about and it is sickening to deal with, especially on top of other things out of our control.

FRAUD WITHIN UNIFY CREDIT UNION On July 24, 2024 I received a letter from Unify Financial Credit Union stating that I made a request to update my phone number. I did not gave UFCU a call, July 29, 2024, at 5:15pm, stating I did not call to update my phone number. I spoke to *******, and he generate a Fraud Investigation. Normally, when a person makes any changes, you would have been sent an email. But I didnt. It came to my attention that someone hacked into my **** Card Number and transfer $7,000, with seven other transactions from my card to my Saving Account, from my **** Card and change the phone number. Lucky my home number is on file so, they could not proceed with the transaction. The transaction made by Draft Kings by a PayPal and *****, which I have neither, and I was not notified because there was not any security on the account, at lease the is what I was told by ******. I also believed that whatever code they were sending to that cell number it was not my phone number so transactions could not go because my number is a home number. On July 29, I called, to asked what is going on with the investigation the agent would ask if she could send me a code thru my cell phone or my email it is always sent to my e-mail address. I would then give her to email address, and she would send it to me. Once I received the code. I would give it to the Agent and the phone will drop. (every time) this went on for three days. I think when I go to the Branch to pay my **** Card bill, I show the teller my Saving Account number card with my ID, the teller than look up my account, because I do not have a billing statement Unify does not mail billing statements nor do they send billing e-mails, the only way to see the account is with my ID and Account number. Once the teller open and see the account thru my acct. number and then I am able to pay my bill. The teller can than see the profile with my e-mail address. I believed that what happen, and it cause the fraud.

Cut everyone's Zelle daily *** down to $500 without proper notice and refuse to make exceptions.Charge $20 each time there is an overdraft even with members are going through a temporary season of financial stress and communication them.Their policies cause harm to their members. I do not recommend this institution.

      05/08/2024

Thank you for notifying UNIFY Financial Credit Union (UNIFY) regarding the comment from *********************. We take each complaint seriously and strive to resolve issues to our members satisfaction. We have a top priority to protect our members from potential fraud and unauthorized transactions. By implementing daily limits on payment services, we reduce the risk associated with larger transfers. And, while we understand having limits when sending payments can be an inconvenience, putting such parameters in place helps support account security for all members.UNIFY conducted research and our records show that all fees assessed in 2024 have been refunded as a courtesy. Non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees are charged per item when an account does not have ample funds to cover a transaction (including member checks, Bill *** checks, ACH electronic funds transfers, and debit card transactions), as stated in our Disclosure of Fees and Charges, which can be found on our website. Please call our *************** ************, if we can offer additional clarification or answer other questions you may have.

I got a statement in the mail from Unify FCU about an "inactive account fee", which I found interesting because I have NEVER heard of or used Unify FCU before in my life. I called them to get the account closed so I didn't keep getting charged an inactive account fee. Both the initial representative and the supervisor told me they were unable to close the account unless I wrote a written letter to them in the mail requesting cancellation with a bunch of information I didn't have access to (you know, because I never opened an account in the first place). I am going to keep getting charged a $5 inactive account fee until I figure out how to close an account I never opened and can't access online in any way. BEWARE OF USING THEM!

They were my auto loan lender. My car was deemed a total loss. My insurance paid them out but wasnt enough leaving a balance. I have GAP insurance, so they will cover the rest. I have called multiple times from 12/27/23 to now 01/16/2024 and EVERY call is something different. Ive been told, i will get a refund, my 6k balance will wash away because of my check posted to principle, i need to speak to the total loss department, they contact GAP, no need to deal with total loss department anyone can assist. Like what is going on over there? Finally i had enough! I am waiting on a Manager and cant wait to hear this one. How can a financial institution be this bad! How can they be in operation. Every review is horrible and is true. Thank god i am almost to the finish line with this bank and will be done for good.

This is the absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. I received a notification letter in the mail that my account has been inactive for over a year. First, I never opened this account. It was assigned to me by default because of a personal loan I received from Upgrade. I paid my loan off on 6/16/23 in full; however, the bank still shows it is still open. I have contacted Unify Financial Credit Union today (July 11, 2023) four times by phone, once by email, and last the online banking Message portal. The first representative I spoke to told me to call Upgrade to have them close the account, so I contacted Upgrade and spoke with *****, who stated since I closed my Upgrade accounts (personal loan, credit card) that should close the Unify account since there are no open accounts. Then I called Unify to confirm and spoke with ***** who told me that I need to send a letter to Unify with my name, address, SSN, and intent to close. I told ************ would never send my SSN by mail, email, or fax, so that will not work and that I need to have this escalated. She stated she escalated my concern. I also sent an email and the rep who responded told me to go to the online banking portal and send them a message that I want to close my account. A ********************** rep called me back but didn't leave a name or number, so I just called them back and this rep stated there is still a loan open, which I told her no, I paid that in full on 6/16/23 and she stated she couldn't help me because she doesn't know who to forward me to. This has been the worst experience ever and all for an account I never opened, wanted, or even knew it existed! All I want is my account to be closed and no one can seem to help me. Worst company ever! If I could give them zero stars, I would!!!!

Very poor communication. The company did not notify me that my Auto loan offer would expire in a timely fashion. They made me reapply again for the loan even though I had submitted paperwork requested in a timely fashion. Also due to their lack of timely communication several vehicles I was planning to finance through them were sold. I had asked if they could please extend the loan offer as a one time exception since all paperwork was sent (notarized power of attorney, signed purchase orders, paystubs). I feel like the amount of time working with them to finance the auto loan was wasted and they also wasted the time of the dealerships who were trying to provide the requested paperwork.

Thank you for sharing your experience with UNIFY. We reviewed the application notes and contact log and found that the loan representative maintained an appropriate level of contact over the 60-day application period. We regret that her effort and yours did not result in funded loan and hope that you will consider UNIFY for your future financial needs.
