I purchased a 2015 ******* SantaFe on 8/29/23. On the morning of December 2, 2023 when I started the car it made loud banging noises. My mechanic came to look at it on the morning of Monday December 4, 2023 and told me the engine threw a rod. After trying to find a remedy due to these specific ******* class vehicles having this particular engine issue I contacted the Star Auto Sales who seem angry towards me and provided no help. When I told salesman, "the estimated cost to replace the engine is over $10,000" he began to say, "that car is not even..." and he ended that statement. He was about to say thay car is not even worth $10,000. Yet I was charged $22,645.10. Now I have a car that I purchased for work (I am a In-*************** Services Provider) that I still have to make payments on and pay insurance for. The salesman never called back with any remedy as he stated. I was scammed.Business response

First of all the customer in this case Mr ***************************** bought a used vehicle 2015 ******* Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV with ****** "AS IS NO WARRANTY" on 8/29/2023 and it was financed through a bank after a $5000 down payment towards the price of the vehicle which was advertised at $13,999 plus tax, license and fees. I have attached the Buyers Guide which clearly states "AS IS" and he signed and was provided a copy as well. Also attached is another copy of "AS IS" agreement which he signed and was provided a copy. The customer states he is paying $22,645.10 which is the total amount he will be paying for the vehicle which includes finance charges from the bank for the term of the loan. Initially he bought the car for $13,999 plus tax, license and fees and I have attached copy of the page 2 of the contract which has the breakdown. After the $5,000 down payment for which he provided the receipt; he financed the rest. We cannot control the finance charges which is based off his data and the bank which is financing the loan. Secondly, the vehicle was sold on 8/29/2023 almost 4 months ago and he bought the vehicle "AS IS NO WARRANTY". When ***************** called us we offered to help and he is lying that we were of no help or the person answered the phone was angry. He spoke directly with me ************************* the owner of Star Auto Sales and I offered him help. He said he did a research on these cars and it is covered under ******* recall or extended warranty and mentioned ******* dealer is denying it or whatever. So I told him to email me whatever research information he has or bring it with him so I can accompany him to a local ******* dealer here to help rectify the issue as such he only emailed me email addresses of ******* customer care and didn't bother to come or call me back. He also mentioned one time that his vehicle been vandalized due to the neighborhood he lives in which indicates the vehicle not kept secure. Anyways long story short he has been driving the vehicle for almost 4 months with no issues at all and he bought the vehicle with 'NO WARRANTY'. I purchased a car from Star Auto Sales 08/19/2023, test drove vehicle with only 40 miles in tank. 08/23/2023 lights came on in vehicle stating Oil Pressure Low, 08/24/2023 wires hanging from under car, engine shaking and AC (they advertised WORKING AC) was blowing hot air. ******* agreed to fix all issues. Loner car that was given to me had expired tags and 8 different lights on the dash. When told I would like to void contract after 2 weeks of no communication from them, ******* stated my car was fixed but the air conditioner made a noise. *** and ******* both told me it would be a $500 restore fee and $200 void contract fee. When I went back to the dealership they didnt let me inside, *** came outside and said he would void contract but I would not receive any money back and laughed at me.Business response

As the customer stated in her statement, she test drove the vehicle on 08/19/2023 before buying/signing contract/paperwork. After 5 days of driving/having possession of the vehicle; on 08/23/2023 customer states the oil pressure low and 08/24/2023 states wires hanging from under front end of the vehicle. First of all customer bought the vehicle "as is no warranty" (please find attached paperwork signed by customer). So when the customer called/texted and as a returning customer we agreed to help her out by taking care of the issues. When she brought the vehicle in for diagnostics we found that the vehicle was hit at the bottom front, probably hit a parking lot barrier or something which ripped off the engine cover at the bottom and tore the wires as well. We tried calling the customer for more information but she didn't answer her phone and when asked she completely denied. She also didn't buy the contract cancellation option which she is mentioning about and was mentioned to her by us. Long story short her car was fixed at no cost to her and then when contacted she decided not to proceed with the financing/buying the car but kept driving our loner car putting miles on it. When she came to give back the loner car there were more then enough people inside our small office so we decided to meet her outside at our vehicle display area to get keys for the loaner vehicle from her and thanked her, no one laughed at her as she mentioned.Initial Complaint

This is ************************* Responding. This customer has wrote a check that was no good .Also he did fraudulent checks and cashed in my account. We have reported that matter to law enforcement. They are taking care of all this .His car is not paid of fully basically his check bounced. He is a fraud.Initial Complaint

On July 9 i bought a vehicle which within days the engine got blown I try first talking to them but they said theres nothing they can help me and can not get the car back it hasnt even been 30 days I bought itBusiness response

This is ******* from Star auto sales , ******************************* and ****************************** did by the 2013 ******* ***** fe on July 9th 2022 , It was sold AS IS NO WARANTY .But customer did purchase the extended warranty . I have talked to her yesterday regarding the issue. She did purchase the extended warranty that covers her power train . Told her if she need me to help her with the process i can help her out . THEY SALE NOTHING BUT FALUTY VEHICLES AND THERE BULLIES. I PAID CASH FOR MY *** SIGNED PAPERS AND DROVE 2 MILES DOWN THE STREET WHEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON. I TURNED AROUND WENT BACK TO THIS JOKE OF A DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY RAN THE ***** AND MORE THAN 8 ***** CAME UP. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT REFUND MY MONEY BUT THEY WOULD TAKE THE *** BACK AND USE IT AS CREDIT TO ANOTHER ***. SO I PICKED OUT ANOTHER VEHICLE OFF THERE LOT SIGNED PAPERS DROVE 2.5 MILES AT MOST WHEN MY ENGINE SEIZED *** STOPPED TURNED OFF WENT FROM 45 TO 0 INSTANTLY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED WAT HAD HAPPENED THEY CALLED ME A LIER TOLD ME MY ENGINE DIDNT DO THAT. THE SALESMEN CAME OUT TO TRY AND TURN IT OVER WHEN IT WOULDN'T THEY TOWED THE ***. BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A THIRD TIME. They voided their contract still refusing to refund my ****** $ they said that this will be there last time trading the FALUTY car they just sold me out. Needles to say car number 3 was FALUTY also a** out my money and a car these people are SLIMY THRIVESCustomer response

I/4/2020 have no idea what this customer is trying to claim , this car was purchased 1 year 3months ago as cash deal . We never had ant issues reported t us till today . Car she bought was 9/4/2020,she didn't purchase any extended warranty. We Did only send them this car ACURA TSX 2007. she hasn't been in contact with us since she purchase the car . she never complaint about having any issues . Remember she calling in to get her registration , which she wanted to be mailed to *********. Star auto sales is not responsible for any loss .
