I received a quote for vinyl windows on 9/1/2021. Measurements were taken on a later date. At the time the measurements were taken I was in the process of having tile laid but stopped until I had the go ahead from the window company so as to not have the tile damaged. On January 25, 2022 the windows were installed. They began demo and removing the existing windows (slider) on the left side of the window and threshold. They immediately began to cut my newly installed tile stating it was interfering with the window threshold dimensions. When I questioned this the installer mocked me. As they continued with the install they left my old metal windows in place and attempted to install the new windows within them because they needed to fill the gap. The slider was obviously measured incorrectly and is 2 inches shorter in height and width than the existing windows/slider was. They attempted to cover this up with some type of vinyl trim that was never specified that I did not want. I called all of this to their attention and was met with excuses and arguments. The installers left the too small window with a 2 inch gap and exposed foam. This is an incomplete and inaccurate installation. I expected to have a slider the same size and height as my existing door. I called the company to further express my dissatisfaction. After several days I received a call back and was met again with hostility. I was told this is a retrofit installation, which it is not entirely. None of the other windows were installed this way. The man said "didn't you wonder why you were getting the windows for such a cheap price." He further stated the discrepancy was not a big deal, insisted this was retrofit, told me it wasn't rocket science and I should have my son or someone else install trim to hide the gap and grout the gap in the tile where it was cut. He further stated that he was not willing to rectify the situation that it would cost too much to replace the window/slider.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/22) */ Contact Name and Title:************************ Contact Phone: ********** Contact Email: *********************** We have tried to contact the customer at least 15 - 20 times, left numerous messages. Because she open the case with the credit card company to have the money reimbursed back to her she didn't want to talk to us. We proved our case to a credit company too that we did install the product all the materials been ordered and installed was based on our contract. When it comes to the retrofitting windows, New windows sitting on the top of the old aluminum frame therefore it will be a few inch smaller in that area should be covered with foam. After installation customer reviewed our work and was OK for entire job except she wanted us To install wood trims from interior to cover the gap. She didn't want us to install vinyl trim which we always do. As a courtesy we gave the customer $200 in credit for the wood trim and she said she's happy and she'll have someone else get it done.Instead of charging her $**** for the balance which charger card only $2300. Instead of trying to scam people I wish she did pick up the phone or return our calls back to resolve the issue if there is an issue. After credit card company awarded us with the balance now she decided to contact you to resolve issue.
