SERVPRO of South Shasta County was contracted by ***** L to perform fire mitigation services after a vehicle fire severely damaged her home in **********. We performed all mitigation services which included debris haul-off, vehicle haul-off, roof tarping, temp fencing, dry-out, and demolition. We worked directly with the insurance adjuster to go over the scope and obtain approvals.
All requested documentation was sent to the adjuster in a timely manner. All services billed for were performed and the invoice was sent to insurance, approved, and paid to her for the full amount, to be given to us. She requested a local competitor (that had NOT performed any mitigation) to write an estimate for the services that they felt we performed (which did not include much of our work), and it was $11,221 cheaper than ours. She decided that she would only pay us what they thought it should cost (for clarity, she got a bid from a direct competitor in town that does NOT do mitigation and asked them what we shouldve charged and then paid us based on their estimate!).
As to the other issues: When we installed the temp fencing around her home, our technician inadvertently forgot to leave a padlock and chain for access. It was remedied as soon as it was known. Our construction company always does floor prep prior to flooring installation, not during mitigation. We attempted to preserve the granite countertops but they were damaged during demo and not reusable.
