We called Local Garage Doors to assist with an overhead door. The doors were installed in 2016. The technician said he adjusted a clamp on the upper gear. He opened the door without resetting the limits and bent the gear and upper rod. He apologized and said the door could no long be adjusted or corrected. He said he would contact his boss and correct the problem. We received an invoice from Local Garage Doors for $1095 to install a new garage door opener. When I contacted the manager, *******, she informed me that the technician said the door motor was ***** years old and could not be fixed. This was not the information the technician provided, nor is the information correct as the garage door was installed new in 2016. They offered no further assistance other than installing a new opener. There are two doors on the building. Installing a new motor meant two different door openers and two different remote controls. We contacted the manufacturer of the original opener (the one Local Garage Door damaged) and verified the original installation date. They sent a technician who confirmed the upper gear and gear rod were bent. The more was fully operational. The damage could not be repaired and a new opener was required. The cost for that installation was $2528.00. We are seeking reimbursement from Local Garage Doors for at least half the amount of the new installation. The technician and manager were both untruthful.Business response

It appears you are filing a complaint with the wrong company. We are "Local Garage Doors" and provided you with an estimate for the work. We didn't do the work nor have we collected a single ***** from you. Based on the invoice you attached, it appears you hired "Overhead Doors" which is another company (not us "Local Garage Doors").
Overhead Doors completed the work and collected money. You should be contacting them and your BBB complaint should be with them.
We wish you would have given us your business; it would have saved you a lot of money. I hope this helps.

This complaint is towards Local Garage Doors NOT Overhead Door of Sacramento. I left a Message for the ******************** already. If you read the statement from the customer it even states he is talking about Local Garage doors.
Our Company did go out there after they did and fixed the job correctly and the customer is very happy with ********************** ************ of Sacramento. We do not have a ******* with our company, The Customer dealt with ******* in our office and on his follow up after the job completion was happy.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The complaint is towards Local Garage Doors. We need confirmation from BBB our complaint was sent to Local Garage Doors.
