The purpose of my visit to the *** Wellness Center, *************************************** on April 12, 2024 at 3pm was to receive a prescription for a renewal of Descovy, an HIV preventive medication (Prep). I indicated orally on the phone on the previous day and again to the receptionist in person that I had just run out of the daily pills it could put me in ***** way for there to be a gap. I agreed to be tested for HIV and other STDs on the condition that a prescription for free Descovy is given to me. The manager knowingly breached this agreement after I had successfully undergone the tests. He was argumentative and hostile because I had told one employee that the receptionist had repeated something three times and that I had gotten it the first time, and that this sort of thing is mildly frustrating. The manager sought to "turn the tables on me"...that making a complaint against an employee is "behavior that cannot be tolerated." He used the prescription as his power-play and refused to give it or the medication to me as payback for my "rudeness." Actually the manager was out of line, and not only rude, but hostile as well. I believe he was seeking to impose his "woke" ideology, as he would not listen to reason. For example, I told him that an employee had said that I speak very intellegently. I repeated this to the manager for context. "So she challenged your intellience," he said. "No," I replied. "She complimented me." He insisted that he had it heard it right and insulted me by dismissing my confirmation of what I had said. Then he made his power-play, which I contend, given the time late on a Friday afternoon, meant that my medication would lapse for a minimum of days. Given the rudeness and hostility of the manager of the clinic, I will not communicate directly with him, but only with his company's management personnel above him.
