On 11/11/2021 I ordered (order #****) from Orchid Design (1361 Plum St. San Jose CA 95110, 408-476-7153) an orchid-a Dendrobium tobaense variety giganteum AM/AOS. It was described as a "Beautiful-Rare Species," and I was excited to find it. I paid $65 + $29.75 shipping. However, instead of that highest-award-winning plant, the company substituted without my agreement a Dendrobium tobaense var. giganteum 'Green Mystery,' a lesser variety. And, the plant itself that I was sent was an unhealthy, weak, spindly specimen of unacceptable quality. I wrote on 11/21/21 after I received it that I wished to return that plant either in exchange for the plant I actually ordered/paid for or to receive a refund. No response from the company. I wrote again and sent pictures of the plant I had received. No response from the company. I wrote a third time on 11/26/21 and reiterated my request, this time quite frustrated, stating that I felt cheated and wanted my money back. "At your request," I wrote, "I will return the miserable plant you sent me." No response from the company. I have now waited two-and-a-half months for an answer from this company and have been totally stonewalled. Please, Better Business Bureau, help make this right.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/03/11) */ We replied to this customer three times, to the email address she provided, asking her to return the plant if she wanted a refund. It was not clear that she had received our replies, so we contacted her by phone and again told her that she would need to return the plant in order to get a refund. She never sent the plant back to us nor did she ever actually indicate that she intended to return it. Quite honestly, it looked to us as if she wanted to keep the plant and still get a full refund; however, if she still has the plant in healthy condition (as shipped to her) and is willing to return it, we can still offer a refund after we get the plant back.
