I hired this business to reinforce four wooden gazebo posts in my backyard. *************************** worked on this project and was paid for it. A few days after the work was completed, there was gusty wind and a banana plant fell on the gazebo, damaging the post work that was done. The posts that he made were not strong enough the withstand the impact of a banana plant. I called ****** to repair the damage and because his work was recent and should have been strong enough to withstand the impact of a banana plant, I expected him to do the work for free, to rectify any defects in his workmanship. He flatly refused to do it. After a few days he informed me that he could do the work of repairs if I paid him $530. I reluctantly agreed because the work needed to be done. However, he then demanded advance payment before commencing the work. I think demanding payment before the work is done, especially when the work became necessary due to his own poor workmanship, is unreasonable, in my view. What guarantee is there that he will do the work satisfactorily and not leave it defective again. I would like BBB to ask ****** and his company to come to a satisfactory resolution to this problem. Ideally, he should do the repairs for no money.
