Around 6:30pm I parked my car within my apartment complex as I really needed to use the restroom thus I made an emergency stop to block my own car port. I was not blocking any fire lanes, hydrants, or any other vehicles. At 6:40pm, exactly 10 minutes, I stepped out of my apartment complex and my car had been towed away. It was not in the process of being towed, it was gone. When I had checked the air tag location of my car, it showed my vehicle half way down ******************. I called the towing company who took my car and they had said I'd need to pick up my vehicle at their specified address. I went to go pick it up, when I was charged according to the business owner $560 for storage fees, towing fees, and after hour gate fees. However, it's not specified what the hours are on his business page nor were they specified by the owner himself. According to ******* his business runs 24 hours, 6 days a week, other than that, there are no specifics for the gate times. It should also be mentioned that when I had asked the owner to provide me an Itemized Invoice, Proof of Authorization, the photos the tow driver was legally supposed to take to prove the reason for my towing, the Tow Report itself, and a copy of his business license and insurance, he refused, acted dismissive, and claimed I forfeited any legal right I had to dispute this case the second I paid to have my car removed from his tow yard. However, under California Business and Professions Code 22500-22526, he is legally required to provide the requested documentation and ensure that the fees were reasonable and transparent. The only sort of invoice I attained was a mobile receipt that does not specified what I was charged for.
