AVA Auto Repair, ******, owner, cell phone # ************) rebuilt a transmission for **, ************, on 11/11/22, with a 1-year warranty for $3500. Upon having it re-installed, it was having the same problems of hard shifts both up 1-2,2-3,3-4... and down shifts. I took the truck back to *** **** (******) where he had it for over 7 days and said it was the throttle position sensor/ throttle body causing the hard shifts. There was no check engine light coming on, but I still replaced the entire throttle body and sensor, nothing changed. Then ****** said it needed to be driven more to re-calibrate the computer. I did that, nothing changed. Then he said it was the **** transmission control unit, I took it to **************** dealership, paid $185 diagnostic fee, it was something internal and had to be opened and inspected for internal failures, not the **** throttle position sensor, electrical external failures etc... I then had to pay a mechanic $800 more to remove the transmission again because *** can't fit the truck inside the shop. After re-installing the transmission, a 2nd time, same problems of hard shifts. ****** and his tech came to our business and test drove it and said it was a mass air sensor issue. I changed that while they were here, nothing changed. Then ****** said the *** needed to be programmed at the dealership and left. I took the truck to All Transmission and Clutch, a transmission local shop for a 2nd opinion. The technician asked if the valve body was rebuilt as he believed it was a pressure issue with the hard shifts. I asked ****** if it had a rebuilt or new valve body and he said they put a used one in with the rebuild, not a new one. ****** said the valve body was not part of the transmission rebuilt. Although it is a major part of the internal transmission.I bought a valve body from **** for $600 had All Transmission install it $600 because ****** was not responding to calls or texts. All Transmission diagnosed and fixed the problem in 1 day. I've had to spend over $2500 in parts and labor to fix this transmission and lose 6 months of the warranty, which has not been a warranty, more of a guessing game. I've called, texted ****** many times and he says "I told you it was the valve body from the beginning, and it was not part of the $3500 rebuild, that is a $5000 rebuild. I'm asking to be reimbursed $2500, from *** ****, ******. I have receipts and text messages for everything stated above.
