      My mortgage was sold to Amerihome. I made 2 payments before my monthly increased to $700 ADDITIONAL per month! I was told I was NOT ALLOWED to make a P&I payment and must make a full payment. I switched home insurance companies on October 3rd, and the insurance department STILL did not get the correct insurance in place until TODAY. NOW, I STILL cannot make my mortgage payment because they are demanding I pay for an insurance policy that is no longer in place. I was transferred to 10 different people in 5 different departments and not a soul could help me. Now, I have to wait until the refund check from the old insurance company clears before I can make my payment which will include late fees. What they are doing is illegal.

      I purchased a home and within a month of closing Amerihome obtained the loan. I am a 100% disabled veteran and thus exempt from property tax. I submitted all required files when I bought my home, as it was a VA loan as well. Then Amerihome tried to charge me property tax when they acquired the loan. I called repeatedly to try and correct the error, but was always given the runaround. So I withheld payment for 2 months until they "corrected it". Their first "adjustment" was for some farm loan program and the reduced my taxes by .02. I asked for someone in the tax department, but that was an unlisted number for the public. After 2 months, I was finally able to schedule a call back from someone in the tax department. Once I spoke with them, they actually opened my file, found the form from the county stating I was tax exempt and within 24 hours my bill and payments were adjusted and I paid my back mortgage. The kicker is, during the time I was not paying the had a "drive by inspection" to make sure the house was being lived in (which it was) and charged me for it. That charge is still on my account and they will not remove it. In essence, I am being charged for their mistake and inability to read a one page form and the general inability of anyone in customer service to help or get me to someone who can help is unacceptable.

This is interfering with refi and causing late payment with Freedom Mortgage in addition to continued higher interest payments until the transfer from Amerihome to Freedom Mortgage is completed.

      I received a refund from the processing center of amerihome home after looking at my informed delivery it was sent to the last residence which is 1083 amity ave Muskegon Michigan 49548 I gave the mortgage company my recent address after moving out of the house and my mail has not been getting returned to me I called about this issue and the company acted as if they was not even sure what the refund was or why my mail is going their when they have the updated address I would like them to send it to my current address

      In January 2024, we asked Amerihomes for options regarding mortgage payments due to my wife being out of work. We had recently had a child and she was out of work for maternity leave and would not be receiving payments. Amerihomes told us by phone that they could postpone three months worth of payments and add them to the end of the home loan. So we would be able to hold off paying the months of Marcha, April, and May, and would resume payments in June. The company informed us we would not need to recontact them until June and resume normal payments. The months go on and when June came, we saw our account was showing we had missed the three months of payments and owed close to 20K. When speaking to them in June, there was not a discrepancy, stating we needed to first get approved for this adjustment in the payment schedule which is not what was told to us initially. At this point, the account showed we were extremely delinquent in payment and could lead to foreclosure. When trying to get this sorted, the mortgage sold out account to Freedom Mortgage. Now, no adjustment to the schedule has been honored, we are behind about 3 months of home payments and need to try a make certain amount of payment to get out of the risk of foreclosure. If I knew the three months of payments would not be added to the end of the loan, I would not have missed the payments. But because we were told various times this wouldn’t be an issue, we did not pay those three months while my wife was on leave and now have 20K to try and make up.

      So what happened was I talked to the company last month to fix my auto pay and to catch up on a missed payment due to there finance department not being able to take my first payment so in the month of July 2024 I talked to them again about making a one time payment and then to set up my auto pay for each month once that was figured out the lady assured me that I would have no further issues so now being the beginning of August they take another payment of around 1200 dollars out of my checking account when they were not supposed too so in the last 3 weeks I’ve made 3 payments instead of 2 payments which was all that was supposed to happen. I figured this would be no big deal that I would just be able to talk to them and they refund one of the payments as they should since it was the second time of them screwing something up. When I talked to the supervisor he told me basically he could not return my money and that basically even if he could i wouldn’t get it until a month later as a check in the mail. But as a home owner and land owner I have other things that I was needing that money for. The second thing is they told me I could dispute the payment through the bank which would cost me 36$ out of my own pocket to get my money back that shouldn’t have even come out of my account. If you ask me sounds like a very shady business that are trying to steal money from a good honest American and I’m fed up with how they are treating me and I feel bad for others that might be dealing with this same thing and don’t know how to get it fixed

      I have an account with this company since 2022 , I became ill and was not able to make a payment on time I called and spoke with someone in September to ask if I will be able to defer the payment for September so that I could not be looked at as being behind. I continuously call a couple months out . I spoke with someone between February March and I asked to have the payment deferred they said that it had to be reviewed and approved and they will let me know never heard back from anyone. April I made payments to my mortgage in a lump sum payment of $5,000 on their website which they asked you to use to make your mortgage payments it said that I didn't have to make a payment until July .I another payment for over 2000 in July. I called spoke with the representative she stated that I owed 2,000 an escrow which I didn't, they didn't understand where the money has went and that there will be an investigation and to call back I called back spoke with another person I was told basically that I signed up for something I never signed up for and that in order for them to push a payment to the end of my loan I would have to give them three months worth of payments to show that I can continue paying so that the one month could be pushed into my loan. and the next thing you know I get an email from them stating that I am behind on June/july. I called spoke with the same representative and she explained to me that we sent you paperwork out to sign off on the 3 months that you need to pay in advance before we can push payments behind. Paperwork that wasn't sent until I called and complained! I'm complaining because I feel as though they're fraudulent and mishandling money. I wish I did not have this company as my mortgage providers

      We bought a house on May 8/23 a month later the loan was taken by Amerihome mortgage company, my mortgage is $2445 monthly. On May/2024 amerihome charged me a hazard insurance for $667.34 and a flood insurance for $1448. Then in July 10/24 they notified me my escrow account had a shortage and I found out they had added another insurance for $2567. Apparently the first flood insurance wasn’t enough and they decided to add another insurance so I have 2 flood insurance and now my monthly mortgage will increase significantly. I want to note that last year I paid 2 insurances and were enough. I have called multiple times I had been given 7 different phone numbers and nobody has given me an explanation, they keep transferring me. I need help I’m supposed to pay 1 hazard insurance and one flood insurance just like last year. Thank you

      To start off this company bought out my loan from Guild Mortgage. I never chose this mortgage company. They overpaid my taxes with the escrow, I entrusted them to disperse correctly, causing my mortgage to go up at the beginning of this year to an unaffordable rate $400 above the already almost unaffordable rate. this put me behind quite a bit for the year, causing numerous late fees of $90 each month. They said they can only refund one per year even though it was their fault that I was behind. Furthermore, I signed up for auto draft. The company usually post payment a couple of days after payment is made however with auto draft, they took it out a day earlier and my bank rejected it. In order to avoid another $90 late fee I made an additional payment while that processed. The company applied that to principal instead of the July balance I called and had that corrected supposedly however it was not. The bank did put that to the payment but then they continued to try to draft my account $2867.07 every three days. My family has been without food and groceries for over a week now as this mortgage company continues to try to draft fees that are not owed to them when I called they said that auto draft was cut off on the 12th and that they were no longer drafting , I tried to explain to them that there was another draft on the 19th which has posted to my bank account. I am a very hard-working mother and I’m struggling as it is. This has really caused our family to suffer and I would like a settlement. I have put a stop payment on Amerihome mortgage with my bank. So no further action needs to be taking with the payments, but I would like compensation for the harm done to my family and a written apology.
