      I bought a Star Link system online from West Marine, just a bit under $500. I "chatted" with a customer service rep before buying the item and asked if the item came with all the parts needed to install. "Yes, it is complete for installation". It arrived, and of course the flat panel antenna instructions show that the flat panel is designed to sit on a deck, or the yard, or wherever one won't run over it, or the dogs chew on it or the critters chew and defecate on it. West Marine does not handle the shipping return. I chatted with their help, which was not help. I called and set on hold until my life needed attention. I called the ******** SC West marine and sat on hold until the machine finally said no one was answering. Let's summarize that West Marine's lousy customer service and misleading statements will ensure I remember their name and never buy from them again. No help with returns.

      Ordered a pair of boots during their black Friday sale, only to check my order status 10 days later to find that the item was back-ordered. There was no indication of this when the order was made, and no updates were sent to inform me. When I contacted customer support, they told me the product would not be in stock until February! It was very disappointing as this was a Christmas gift, and I missed out on shopping for other deals on this item as I assumed my order was all set through West Marine. Very deceitful, proceed with caution.

      Long ago I think I purchased something from Weat Marine at the **************, ********** location. However, I never subscribed to their promotional emails. Nevertheless they have **** bombarding me with promo emails. Unsubscribing repeatedly has never solved the barrage. I have even called ****** to have me taken off their database and even though I was told they would do so, I continue, months later, to receive 2-3 promo emails per week. Contacting the local store confirmed my suspicion their hands were tied and couldn't do anything to stop the onslaught. Bad customer relations m.o.

      Was charged three times for a $300 fishing reel that I never ordered.... I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income and they ******** my account on two separate $320 charges and took all of my rewards certificates out of my account. I am contacting my bank today to report you guys as fraud. My case number is #********. This needs to be fixed today! I have already been emailing with the lawyer who is going to be helping me with this who is one of the big guys at wounded warriors. You guys are horrible.

      Since I had to leave a star, it is only one! My husband looked online for a boat part, that said it was IN STOCK, placed the order and paid the extra for 2-day shipping. When the order still listed as IN PROCESS 3 days later, he called. The part he ordered was in fact NOT IN STOCK, and they have NO CLUE when it will be back in stock. He was told their system "Just does that" when listing a part in stock, when it is actually not in stock. Unsure if we will actually get our money back. We will NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.
