I have water damage in my home. A contractor was found off of the Shopper (which is a newspaper in the ********** Area) He boosted he can do it all, electric, plumbing, dry wall. He didn't ask what I wanted at all. He painted the bathroom two different colors, which I wouldn't have picked. I wanted a pedestal sink, he but in a cabinet sink. He re used the toiled, which was the problem in the first place and had been exposed to black mold and outside for over 2 and 1/2 months. He put plywood around my bathtub and didn't put a hole in for the shower head, I prefer showers, but again he didn't ask. Once I saw this, I said he was done. My son and I bought a new toilet to replace the bad one and heard water dripping under my bathroom. Someone had move the pipes so hard, it started to leak. I had to hire a plumber to come in and fix the problem and was told by him that someone must have been shoving the pipe pretty hard to get it to break like it did. I gave ********************************** of ******* Handyman, **** to get started fixing the bathroom and sink. I do believe he didn't even put a draining pipe in for my Washer and Dryer. Oh, it's gonna cost $510.00 to get the hole placed and pipe run and hooked up to have my shower. I also found out that he doesn't hold a license in ********** or ********, which my house is in ********. Please help.Business response

Sienna ***** contacted me to help her prepare her bathroom and kitchen that was damaged by a leaking toilet, the damage was extensive, including rotten floorboards that needed to be replaced in the bathroom. I repair the bathroom and put it back into working order, I have before and after photographs of the work done.
She could not find anyone to help her with and what the insurance adjuster paid her for the project, and was quite frustrated at the time and told me please just put it back together however you can do it the quickest, which is what I did.
At no time did she indicate her preference is to any paint or materials to be used on the project.
As regards to the toilet she mentions, black bull does not stick to porcelain, the toilet is in fine working order it was the wax ring underneath the toilet that caused the damage to the floor, which I repaired and is no longer an issue. I
As to her issue with the shower, at no time did she request that I install a shower rather than the tub that existed prior to the work being done.
*************** mentions that she purchased a new toilet and installed it, upon installation she heard water dripping, I would assume that she does not know how to install a toilet. And if she needed to hire a plumber because of her inability to install a toilet correctly that has nothing to do with me.
Our conversations were documented through texting, she would ask from time to time how is the project going and where was I at at that time, and I had responded saying to her, I'm about to lay the floor next week, or I got the floor laid and now I'm ready to paint oh, things like that and did not hear a response back from her, like I said previously I have the text showing no response from her.
The attached pictures show the extent of the damage to her bathroom, and the finished bathroom. I think it looks very good and is usable and comfortable.
I'm sorry if *************** is upset with the color of the paint and the items picked out, I thought it was unusual that she did not give a preference as to those things like most of my customers do, and usually purchase the items and pick them out themselves and have me install them. Her insurance company gave her $13,600 to have the bathroom and kitchen repaired, which is about $5,000 less than any other contractor would do it for, I took pity on her because she was without a bathroom and no one to do the work so I try to help her for the low amount that her insurance company provided for the work to be done.
*****.

I am rejecting this response because: I noticed the leak under the house when my son and I went into the kitchen. The old toilet was still installed into the bathroom. The plumber themselves informed me that someone had to move the pipe pretty hard for it to leak like it was and I have before and after pictures.Thee are too many issues to address.
As to the not stating my preference, I was never given the oportunity. I have never done this before. I don't/didn't know what to expect let alone ask for. You do not put sheet rock unless treated around a bath tub. The bathroom had a shower to start with, why would you not put one back in? Common sense here. There was also two pipes with turn off values placed where my stove goes, don't understand that.
I was in a trauma state of mind during all of this, and to not ask the home owner what they prefer is unheard of. I am just so frustrated by him and my insurance, I guess I will be contacting an attorney to see what my next steps are.
Sincerely,
