Event Date: 4/1/23 Wife attempted to take 1yr old daughter to urgent care at this location. Daughter presented symptoms such as coughing, heavy congestion, and had been present for 3 days. Wife and daughter were turned away at desk by Nurse because my wife stated my daughter had trouble breathing. ***** told her that they had to go to **. Obviously ** is a lot more money than urgent care and my daughter was NOT in a state that warranted a trip to the ** or we would have taken her there. My wife was told they werent equipped to to handle the prescribed symptoms. This is the 4th time my wife has been turned away by this urgent care, and specifically this nurse whose name my wife has not gotten because each time she is reduced to tears and leaves; my wife is very non confrontational and will leave at first presentation of conflict. Each time we are forced to go to the ** and pay the extra fees. Each time my wife asks the doctor if there was anything that they did that the urgent care could not have done and she is always told no. One doctor told her that they have constant issues with this urgent care turning people away and they have filed complaints against them before. With the rising costs of everything money is tight for a lot of people. While I will pay anything for my kids health, I would rather not pay 3-4x as much for an ** visit when an urgent care should be able to see my kids or wife. This urgent care has it posed that they are short staffed and I feel people are being turned away so as not to deal with them. If an official policy on patients that can be seen against who cant be seen is not provided that demonstrates the urgent care was correct in its action, I believe it should be investigated and a visible policy displayed for incoming patients as well as compensation for the difference I am forced to pay between and ** visit and an urgent care visit.Business response
