I was a student of Coding Dojo in early 2022. I was told we would have access to ****** Services for life. It was very difficult to keep track of what was going on in the career services department as they were bought out by a different company. They got rid of most of the CSMs and ****** Services staff. They were not upfront with what was going on with the company and they were very misleading on their Discord server until recently they decided to cut us off from the accessing the server. Coding Dojo should have notified their alumni of what was going on to keep them in the loop instead of having to guess. Coding Dojo also boasted on multiple websites including their own that more than 80% of their graduates would have a job in the tech industry within 6 months. I believe that statement was not true because it has since been removed.Business response

First to start Coding Dojo is misleading people by selling courses and promising a high rate of getting a job but the truth is the material Coding Dojo is providing is not authentic and severely outdated. Professors at coding dojo are not responsive to emails and messages. I tried many times to reach my professors with questions and I got zero response. On top of that, even questions during lectures are not being addressed because they are putting so many people to the video call where the professor physically might not be able to reply to all the questions. It is a paid BootCamp which costs a lot of money and people had to take loans to be able to attend the BootCamp and not getting the response back is unacceptable. The career coach who is supposed to navigate me during the job hunting process is simply useless all they do is point out "mistakes" in the resume but the resume itself is no the issue. They don't share any job hunting strategies nor they might refer you to somewhere where you can have an internship, unpaid that is so you can gain more experience in the real-life field and apply knowledge given to real-life issues and keep on learning. I feel like coding dojo is ripping people off and don't do anything after they receive all the money.Business response

NEARLY 20K IN DEBT BECAUSE OF THIS SCAM !!!! I completed the cyber security program last year (2023), not only the curriculum felt rushed an poorly put together, the instructors themselves weren't up to par neither. Projects were very poorly put together and with very little supporting documentation. We would be reading a chapter on a topic and labs following the reading would usually be something completely unrelated. There were giving ADVANCED labs like malware analysis(which the instructor suggested we skip) and buffer overflow with ZERO to no preparation. We were left to figure out A LOT on our own, thank god for the TA's, the only good thing about this program. To make matters worse, they lied about their job placement rate, the cyber security program is a couple years old and literally I've only heard of TWO students saying they got jobs. This is a company that was boasting a 80+ RELEVANT JOB placement rate. Then how come only TWO students have spoken up about getting jobs ? the other part they must be considering are the TA's, who are previous graduates from the program. Their career service is also a joke, just a glorified resume editing service, nothing else. COMPLETE SCAM !!!Business response

Coding dojo promised to have people work ready for the fields we chose to study through the company. They promised a high rate of hiring for our field after graduation and didnt give us anything to prepare for the work force. We paid a lot of money and then after we finished the program, they shut it down completely. The career services was promised for life and the person in charge of it, is known for cancelling meetings that we schedule months in advance and he cancels within a couple days with us having to reschedule another couple months in advance. The instructors didnt care or seem to know very much about the stuff they were teaching at all.Business response

Complaint: 21346442
I am rejecting this response because: I filed a complaint before and it was closed out. The company reached out to me via email and hasn't replied since March 4th. The source materials from the company were all taken off the internet from free resources or cheap resources and there was no documentation about where they got the materials from. We were all promised things that were not given to us. I received a phone call from someone at the company but they called from a blocked number and when I said I was not able to talk that moment, they had hung up and said they would try again next week but still nobody has reached out since then.
Sincerely,

******************** received outreach from the Ombudsman at CTU via phone and email on March 8, 15, and 19th. ******************* did in fact speak to CTUs Ombudsman in the evening of March 19th where he informed us that the email communication(s) sent were not received as they were sent to an email he does not regularly check; although it was the email he listed on his BBB complaint. Nonetheless, ******************** was allowed the opportunity to address his complaints and discussed next steps in the handling of his case. He accepted the proposed next steps via phone, agreeing to a written update from the University in the next 1-2 weeks. We will continue investigating the complaint appropriately and will communicate with ******************* directly at the new email address he provided the Ombudsman.Initial Complaint

Coding Dojo sold this program based on false expectations. Starting with the recruiter, they made me believe and assured me that there were lots of job placements available and once graduated they'd connect us all directly with those partners to apply for those positions. They said this course was job guarantee and that in 6 months we'd master the minimum requirements to work in the area, and on top of it, their ************************* is a joke, making me correct details in my resume over and over even after saying the changes were good, and no real support to find jobs. In class, it was obvious that most of the trainers weren't confident of the information they were trying to teach, and weren't supportive to answer questions directly, dodging the questions.Business response

I paid about $16000 for courses that appeared to be free elsewhere along with underqualified teachers that barely knew how to handle the questions that were asked. They also offered a career service program but I was only ever able to reach out to CSM *************** Manager) once despite making efforts to meet with them. Along with these issues, it was beyond impossible to get a response from any individuals in relation with the entire student experience. They also bolstered the statistic outlined in the document attached but it appears that almost all of the cohort and individuals thereafter were unable to secure a job or any opportunity and the CSMs were unresponsive despite stating they would be prompt to respond. The general sentiment of lack of follow-through with the career services mixed with teachers that lack the proper knowledge and experience teaching the coursework they were about Cyber-security led to a great injustice being done on the students within the course. Furthermore, the lessons being taught were ripped from other sources that are infinitely cheaper and more viable so the entire course and promise of a better career was all a scam to siphon money from those seeking to improve their situations and lives.Below I have including a link to one of the lessons that was recorded, the point of focus is between the timestamps: 1:12:47 to 1:35:00 Link: *********************************************************** The reason I included that portion as it is active staff and a TA that were outlining how unprepared they were for the material expected for them to give which further boasts the lack of experience from all sides of the faculty members to be teaching the material that was intended to be shown.Business response

I enrolled in the Coding Dojo cybersecurity program in January 2023 and completed the course in July 2023. I finished the program with high honors. Everything that was promised from ****** Services to percentage of graduates that obtain secure entry level positions after graduation and even with the Curriculum taught has fallen far from the truth that they promised before signing up to pay $16,000. False advertisement for Coding Dojo bootcamp claiming to prepare you to be job ready once the program is completed. Most of the lectures from one instructor I found was exact copy and paste from the ******************* courses I purchased on Udemy. ( I did not find that out till after I already finished the program) Each of **************** courses cost $30! We were told during enrollment that we were going to be taught by IT professionals when in reality most of all the staff were just recent graduates from the Coding Dojo program and not real world IT instructors. They build you up while you are enrolled so that you dont drop. The hands on that you do was never gone over for you to learn. The lifetime career service was not existent and they would never get back to you. Even when I would follow up with them, no responses. I feel completely scammed for a professional bootcamp that used some material from a course that cost only $30 and a curriculum that did no where near plan to prepare or support students during and after completion as it states from the recruiters before enrollment. They used False statistical figures to lure students like myself into signing up for the program only to feel ripped off once finished. The following ******* recording is from one of the lectures. Please enter the following link below and Fast Forward to 1:12:47 and listen thru 1:35:00 ************************************************ *********************** is one of the Instructors and ***** is a Teaching Assistant both speaking to each other there own thoughts about the program they are teaching us.Business response

Complaint: 21322748
I am rejecting this response because: I have received any response from Coding Dojo which is part of Colorado Technical University with any explanation of there $16,000 curriculum being taken from other online sources that only cost between $15-$30. No response from the ******* video lecture I provided that has one of the Coding Dojo Instructors and Coding Dojo Teaching Assistant conversing with each other there own thoughts of the program and that what Coding Dojo is doing is wrong. No response from either about the predatory recruiting techniques used and the false statistical information that were used to mislead many students into forking over $16,000 or taking out a huge loan for a course that was a complete rip off from other online sources. I have received a response from the Director of ****** Services at Coding Dojo but I have not responded and refused to do so. My complaint is far from just the ridiculous ****** Services for Life pitch that we were told upon signing up for this program. The entire program as a whole has been far from the truth and it saddens me to see that schools like this take advantage of people trying to better themselves only to feel completely scammed at the end of it. I wrote a review about this school on online platforms in hopes that it will prevent future individuals from falling into this same trap. To sum this up, I have not received any response from Coding Dojo in regards to any of the facts that I have expressed in my initial complaint.
Sincerely,

I took out a loan of around ***** dollars for courses that were stolen from around the web. Coding Dojo also claimed a 89% placement rate which is falsified. Simply talking to others and reading there public reports you can see it's much closer to 37%. They promised career services for life but you can't even get an appointment with them and they do not help the give resume tips but always contradict other CSM's. I feel screwed out of my time and money.Business response

In January 2023, I began attending a 24 week cybersecurity bootcamp, graduating in July. Before signing up, I was told that 80% of graduates got jobs in the cybersecurity field within six months. More than six months later, I know of no other graduates from my class who have gotten cyber jobs since graduation. This was fraudulent advertising. We were also promised that career services reps would help us get jobs, but they have done nothing to help me and have even stopped responding to my email requests for help. An entire eight week section of the class (amounting to over $5,000) was copied word-for-word from an $80 online tutorial by a person named *******************. Most of the other hands-on labs were copied from similar free or nearly-free online resources. We were told that we would be ready for a career in cybersecurity when we graduated the Bootcamp, but it is clear that it will require many more months if not years of training before we will be ready for said jobs. We were not taught the why part of what we were doing. If we were lucky, we were given some code to copy and paste and told not to think about it too much.Career Services was touted as a lifetime service that we would be able to use for resumes, interview help, job search help, and so on. But myself and many others have been ghosted by them. Now that they have our money, they dont seem interested in upholding their end of the bargain. This Bootcamp cost over $15,000. A lot of promises were made to us, none of which were kept. This is false advertising. Additionally, theyre plagiarizing material from online resources and passing it off as their own. They promised to help us get jobs, but have not done so or attempted to do so.Business response
