I hired ********************* and his partner to complete a kitchen remodel. **** came to the house 2 times before starting the project to look at it and provide me with a cost. He told me it would cost $28,700 and I asked if he would do it for $25,000. He said he thought he could do that and wanted to come by to discuss figures. He came to my house and we agreed on $28,000 and at that time I wrote him a check for the cabinets which he had already gotten a price on and then half of the remaining cost of the project for a total of $18,421.42. As the project went on, **** and his team were very unprofessional on many accounts (would confirm a time to come and would not show up- this happened more times that I can count, invited ex business partner to my home to complete business deal with without my knowing who reportedly stole from **** in the past, brought children to my home, etc.). I provided many materials as the project went on and paid out of pocket for over $6,000 worth of items in addition to what I paid them. I paid the final amount when they told me they needed one more day to finish for a total of $29,271.42 ($5,000 toward counter tops included which was part of the project agreement). **** has called me names and accused me of lying and the such. They have not finished the project despite my efforts to try get this dealt with directly. **** has accused me of not paying him what the project is worth and has left the project unfinished. I told ********** would be filing a complaint if we did not find a resolution to the problem on 3/3/23. ****** business partner's daughter was a client of mine (I am a pediatric speech therapist) and today his partner's wife called my employer telling them that they no longer want to work with me because I am not doing a good job as their child has not made the progress they desire. My integrity within my profession is now being attacked in addition to my project not being completed and having spent $35,000+ on the project.
