On March 26, 2024, Better Business Bureau recognized a pattern of consumer complaints filed against Cobblers Plus regarding customer service, delivery, and refunds. Consumers allege that the business closed its doors and did not return any items. Consumers also allege that Cobblers Plus has stopped responding to their calls and the website is no longer available.
BBB notified Cobblers Plus of the complaint pattern. To date, Cobblers Plus has not responded to BBB's request to address the pattern.

I shipped my shoes to cobblers plus to have sole serviced the owner *************************** has kept my shoes along with dozens of other peoples shoes and shut his business down stealing everyone items! I spoke with his mom and she said all these items are stored in a storage unit! I have made multiple attempts to reach out to him and have gotten no response! I have contacted his wife ***************************** ************** and his mother **** **************! He is getting items mailed to a different address which we found out it was a *** store in ****** ** P.O. Box! ******************************************************************************************** My shoes are authentic ************************************* size 40 escapic spike 100 mm red sole pump doudou/ gold rose! Value at $1,000!I have contacted ****** ** pd and ****** ** pd! Im also contacting the attorney general! He has scammed so many people that I have met through fb! Please help!!!!Initial Complaint

I dropped off one shoe to be repaired in October 2023. They said it would take a few weeks. About 6 weeks later I called to see if it was ready. It wasn't. They said it would be ready that Saturday. I went to pick it up that Saturday and it wasn't ready. In about another week they called to say it was ready. When I went to pick it up a little more than a week later, the business had completely disappeared. A sign on the door said they had moved and to check their web site for more information. There was no information on their web site. Their phone is disconnected. Several others on Yelp and ****** reported the same story Replacement boots will cost $160 + $30 for the inserts. I paid $40 in advance for the repair.Initial Complaint

This company had three pairs of my shoes totaling over $4000. They had my shoes for over two years. I finally got one pair back. Now they have two pairs and they closed their business and have provided no way to contact and get my shoes.Initial Complaint

I dropped my boots off at the end of November 2023. I pre-paid to have the soles refurbished and leather cleaned ($75) . They were promised back to me on 12/5. I went to pick them up in late December and there was a sign on the store at *************** indicating they had moved. I called the number on the business card and the phone was disconnected. For the past month, this is what the website says We are in the process of relocating to a larger facility and will have our new address posted asap.At the moment our phones are in the process of transferring over so they may still be down.We have a temporary PO Box set up for mail in orders at:******************************************************************************************** For all local drop of repairs we will be up and running shortly and if you are picking up any items we will be calling you shortly to deliver or mail out your items.I continue to not have my boots which I have already invested the same amount I paid for the boots originally. I have tried to locate an alternate means of contacting them and there is no email. I filled out the contact form on their website. No reply. I am not willing to go to the new address to find them closed. Further, note that when I went to pick up my boots in December, I checked their ****** page to make sure they were open. It said they were open and there was no message indicating they had moved.Customer response

I have still.not heard from this business and their number continues to be out of service. How can I find an email or some other alternate method? I paid $100 to have my boots refurbished and winter is half over now. ****Initial Complaint

I sent a pair of boots to this business in October. They refused to let me know they even had the boots until I complained. Once I did they lied and said they'd shop them out in a few days. They didn't ship them out until I complained again. Then when I finally got the boots(3 months later) they had completely ruined them. I think purposefully. They're not wearable and it's going to cost a lot to have them fixed. The company is refusing to give me a refund, or explain why they ruined them. All I can get is then pretending they can't get in touch with me, which is a lie. This place should not be allowed to do this.Initial Complaint

I purchased a service, via Cobblers Plus website to have sole protectors installed on a pair of my wifes **********. That was on 12-6-23, on 12-19-23 I contacted Cobblers plus and confirmed they had my shoes but had yet to complete the work. I spoke with an older female on the phone and then a male party to have return shipping address changed so that the shoes were delivered to a more secure address. On 12-23-23 a *** shipping label was created. The shoes were never placed in the possession of ***. On 1-9-24 I began to inquire about the shipping issue to find that the store front has been shuttered, the phones no longer work, and the gmail address has been closed. The website states they are moving locations but fail to disclose a new address. The announcement also says they are working to transfer phone lines. *** also attempted to reached out via social media accounts and have received no responses. Ive read a recent review from a week ago of an individual who arrived at the shop to find it shuttered as well. Which means this business has been radio silent for over a week, removing inventory and personal property of others with no forewarning or communication on returning such property in a timely manner. I plan on taking legal recourse if not resolved.Initial Complaint

On 10/23/2023 Two pairs of Birkinstocks were sent to Cobblers Plus **** for new upgraded soles and reconditioning. The website stated that it would take two - three weeks for compleation and delivery. I made a purchase on 12/5/2023, I never received any confirmation of my order or anything of the kind. *** tried contacting them by email and phone to request a refund. It is now 12/16/2023 and I still have not heard from the company. Nor have I received the items purchased.Initial Complaint

On July 28, 2023, Cobblers Plus received a pair of Birkenstocks that I mailed to them for repair. In speaking with *****, the owner, before sending them, I was told a repair would take about two weeks. When I heard nothing, I spoke to ***** on 8/16. He said that he would send me an receive an invoice later that day. Two weeks elapse, so I called again on 8/30. This time I spoke to ***, who told me he had performed the work and that ***** would call. Crickets for a second time. On 9/8, ***** picked up the phone and said she couldnt locate the shoes. I was supposed to hear back from her that day and I didnt. The next day I called again and the owner assured me they were looking for them. At that point, it was clear that the shoes had been lost and that I told him Id consider the matter closed if he would reimburse me the $17.10 shipping fee. Again, more crickets, so Wednesday of the following week rolls around and I placed my fifth call. ***** assured me he was looking for them. I again offered to settle by accepting a refund for the shipping. Another five days have elapsed, those crickets are now louder than ever.Initial Complaint

May 27th: I dropped of a pair of Birkenstock sandles to *******'s plus for a resole. I prepaid $75 debit for the service. I was quoted 3-4 weeks for the repair. Starting June 28th, I have been calling to try and get my sandles back. They have repeatedly told me it would be 2-3 days before they are ready. They keep saying the shoes are dismantled and just need to be reassembled. It is know 7/14, and I still have not received my shoes back. One the most recent call, the employee siad it wasn't their problem and they could not give me the shoes at all. I want a refund for the service and my property back, which I have asked for. The answer has always been no.Business response

This order was canceled by the customer after we had mentioned the sole they requested was back order due to supply chain problems. The customer had also filed a charge back in a rage without wanting to understand we were doing everything we could for them. The item was returned to the customer in the same state as it was dropped of due to the charge back and the customer not wanting to be patient with the back ordered part or having an alternative sole added.
