I have had a very similar experience as Elle. I had an implant that I complained of pain for months and was told it was "normal". I finally went to my dentist about 1 year after the implant was placed with complaints of pain. She tested it, said it was not normal and sent me to a different oral surgeon who had to remove the errant implant and do another bone graft. I also needed orthodontic work which I am now undergoing before a new implant can be properly placed. The new oral surgeon called this doctor to inform him of his mistake for which he promised a refund to me. I have requested money two more times from him and my requests are ignored. In sum, my complaints of pain were ignored and have not been refunded the $$ spent on substandard care. Like ****, I have spent inordinate time and additional money to correct his "care". He denies mistakes on his part. We are human and all make mistakes. The professional thing to do is own them, learn from them and correct the actions you have control over like refunding fees collected. The Hippocratic oath taken by doctors states "Do no harm".

I had ****************** perform double jaw surgery on me, and it was the worst experience in my life. I developed an infection in my jaw shortly after the surgery and repeatedly expressed my concerns about the amount of pain I was having. He ignored my concerns for several weeks until there was green pus coming out of the incision in my mouth. By this point, the infection had already moved into my bone and began making me incredibly sick. I was taken to the emergency room and admitted to the hospital. When ****************** was informed of my condition (osteomyelitis), he disagreed with the diagnosis that I was given by three separate doctors. At this point, I didnt trust him and had to pay several thousand dollars to a new surgeon to care for me. My new surgeon informed me that not only had the infection entered my bone but it had also killed part of my bone (osteonecrosis) and had to be removed from my lower jaw. I had to have five separate surgeries in four months and now have permanent nerve damage on the lower half of my face resulting from his procedure. ****************** is not only condescending and rude, but he is not capable of acknowledging/diagnosing issues that *** occur after his procedures. This man should not be a doctor, and is a danger to all of his patients.
